3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled on tap at FoBAB 2011 (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich brownish pour, good opaque quality with lighter edges, small head dies to loose bubbles. Aromas are oak, a bit sweet, toffee and dark fruit, gentle spice and touches of apple brandy and oak. Initial is a bit thin bodied, offering a touch of brown sugar, apples and dark fruit raisin. Some brown sugar mixing into some hotter Brandy, oak, vanilla, toffee. Middle shows some thinness, oak, and heat. Finish is apples and lingering heat and oak. Interesting, but not all that well put together. A bit hot and thinned from the Brandy, base is a bit sweet. I prefer some of the other FiftyFifty beers more.

draft... medium bright brown with some amber... this beer is all brandy on the nose and taste, its way too sweet and the base beer totally disappears, only for a huge brandy lover
