COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
FiftyFifty's "Wit" beer, Foggy Goggle is a Belgian Style Wheat Beer, cousin of the German Hefeweizen. An unfiltered beer, Foggy Goggle is brewed true to style, using a yeast strain that originated in Belgium, with just a hint of orange peel, lemon peel, and chamomile. The appearance is an opaque yellow with a wonderfully fluffy head. The predominant aroma is citrus with a hint of coriander, and a unique spicy note. With citrus playing a big part of the flavor, Foggy Goggle is a very refreshing choice. 19 IBU / 5.3% ABV

At the brewpub, with a sampler, pale, cloudy, yellow with minimal white head. Very nice fruity nose with hints of spices. Taste was a bit on the sweet side with a nice clean finish.

Pours a foggy (duh) pale golden with a finger thick white head. Full nose with flowers, spice, citrus. Same in the flavor with the flowers and chamomile standing out most. Nice orange sweetness as well.

Draft @ 50/50. Pours a murky, tarnished yellow-brown color; fine-bubbled off-white head with solid retention and lacing. Very prominent coriander spicing in the aroma, along with some creamy wheat notes and a modest hop character (citrus, minerals); solid, vibrant witbier aroma. Medium body; lively CO2; the coriander note figures prominently, almost like a spicy ginger addition, and really gives this witbier some life; notes of citrus, creamy wheat, hints of vanilla. Medium finish of toasty wheat, lingering citrus acidity; crisp and dry. Nicely handled spiciness.

Spent the NYE weekend on a beer trip in the Sierra Nevada area and Fifty Fifty was my first stop and it started the weekend off on a nice note. On tap, the beer was a cloudy golden yellow body with a fluffy merengue white head. Aroma was citrusy and light spice. Flavor had a strong citrus note, light wheat, and floral/soapy. Sleepy time tea on the flavor, citrusy, and wheaty. Very nice, clean, and easy to drink.

A translucent with, yellowish with a thin lacing white head. A very classy aroma of cloves, with nice peppery notes. In mouth, this wit is fresh, crisp, with light Brett notes. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub August 2007.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy dark gold color. The aroma is citrucy and sweet, with orange, lemon and grapefruit all blending in. The flavor is sweet, with lots of muddled spices and a slight soapiness in the finish. Relatively full and creamy body. A really aromatic and spicy wit. The sweetness and spice are a little over-done, and make this one not as crisp and refreshing as I had hoped for.
