Bottle shared at Dan’s Birthday Tasting (Lyons, IL). Pours a richer blackish pour, good haziness, with a nice brownish glow on the edges. A frothy tannish head is a decent size, sits around and laces ok. Aromas are gentle cocoa, toast and toffee. Some gentle spirit, oak, and vanilla. A bit sweeter and sticky. Initial is firmer, medium bodied, a touch heavier with cocoa, toffee, and toast. Decent spirit. A bit of a condensed sweeter element hangs around. Some oatmeal, black malts, some toffee and toast. Vanilla, gentle spirit. Middle is a bit fuzzy, warm and spirit driven. A bit warm, some gentle carmelization and toast, toffee, coffee roast into the backend. Some roast, toast, a bit harsher and dry, warmth as we finish. Nice beer, a bit warm. The Iced element thickens it up a bit. Nice.

Bottle @ Bruce’s. The pour’s brown with a small head. The nose is raisin and chocolate. Plums. The taste is similarly sweet. Cocoa, berry, some roasted nuts. Raisin cookies. Full body, thick, soft carbonation. Quite solid.

66cl Bottle at WWT II. Black, thin beige head. Aroma of loads of oak, bourbon, hint of raisins, roasted malts, sweet chocolate. Flavour is sweet oak, vanilla, coffee and cream, sweet chocolate, sweet and bitter roast finish with loads of oak. Full-bodied. Soft carbonation. Great stuff.

Bottle thanks to timfoolery. Dark off-brown pour, with a thin light tan head. Sweet caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak, chocolate, plum, and light bourbon. Very smooth, the barrel aging is well done, and little to no booziness. Actually easy drinking for what it is. Good.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Thanks to Bruce? Nose is liquorice, booze, light soy. Flavour is bold sweet mapel light roast. Caramel brown sugar colour toasty. Full body but a touch flat.

2700th rating. Bottle thanks to Minh! Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is toffee, roast, and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with dark chocolate, caramel, and nice roast finish. Very good.

Clear black colour, red hue. No head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, caramel, sweet chocolate, bourbon and red fruits. Sweet flavour, malts, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Full body. Finish lots of vanilla and light chocolate.

Bottle thnx to timfoolery @ WWT II. This pours a jet black coloured beer with a small beige head that leaves quickly. Aroma is alcoholic, bourbon oak, molasses and caramel. Awesome aroma. Flavour definitely has the bourbon influences present, alonside some heavy alcohol and sweet caramel touches. Very well balanced between the oak influences and the alcoholic content. Awesome brew!
