Pours thick motor oil black, with a very thin brown head, very fine clinging
lacing. Opulent aromas of coffee, chocolate, dark cherry, leather, oak, and toast. Full bodied, smooth and thick. Big malt sweetness, equally big bitter finish, leaving some lingering flavors of bitter chocolate and vanilla.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate malt, wood and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small sweet alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid smooth beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small fleeting beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, sweeter whiskey barrel notes, dark fruit, dark chocolate, very smooth and easy to drink considering the abv.

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head that lasts awhile leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong oak roast and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with rich chocolate and light roast in the finish. Very impressive.

Such a good beer. Thanks a bunch, Daknole! Aroma is big whiskey notes, smooth chocolate, coconut macaroons, caramel, cocoa, a touch of roast, and a crap ton of vanilla. Pour is super black with a mocha colored head. Flavors are similar to the aroma with large amounts of chocolate, whiskey, and vanilla/coconut flavors melding together perfectly. This is my favorite eclipse treatment to date.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Dan’s Birthday Tasting (Lyons, IL). Pours a deep blackish brown hue, good haziness, gentle brownish glow on the edges. A frothy light brown head dies to a decent filmy layer, laces ok. Aromas are a bit warm, some spirit, vanilla and oak, some warmth and spirit. Touches of cocoa, roast, and some toffee. Mellow vanilla really grows, richer barrel presence here. Some toast, toffee, vanilla, and roast. Initial is a bit toasty, fudgey. Some cocoa, roast, some gentle oak, vanilla, and spirit. Middle is a bit thinnr, gentle spice and warmth. Some fudge, whiskey, and a bit harsh. Backend is a touch hot, touch of fudge, black malts and caramel. Some toffee, toast, vanilla. Decent barrel. Ok. A bit more well rounded with some better barrel character.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Pours a deep, dark chocolate-brown color; medium-brown head with decent lacing. Plenty of fruity alcohol at the front of the aroma; dark chocolate, spicy cinnamon; a spicy, wheaty presence unique-ish to the line, as I recall. Lots of dark chocolate upfront here, with caramel and a bit of prickly alcohol; barrel character seems to, again, add spicy wheat notes, but that may just be the power of suggestion; kind of Hunahpu-lite; tasty, though not the most expressive example.
