2013 bottle pours like other imperial stouts, dark, khaki head that leaves lacing. Nice sweet taste, bourbon, chocolate, espresso, oak, vanilla. Full body that has. Nice creamy eps, booze burn to boot.

From notes. 2013 Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours dark brown with a scant beige head. Aroma is molasses, raisin, bourbon. This is tighter than the 2012 Blue. Flavor is molasses, licorice. Bourbon and oak finish.

650 ml bottle Adam Jackson’s crazy vertical at my house, big pimp! 2013 vintage. With BR 1 in gold sharpie. Aroma is bourbon vanilla, caramel, chocolate and oak. Awesome!

Flavor is real nice. This Buffalo Trace is a nice barrel. Bourbon presence is full and rich. Medium bodied with a ridiculous the barrel character integrated perfectly throughout the stout. Creaminess is obvious and has a nice charred wood and dark chocolate flavor. Damn nice.

Love BT whiskey especially their base Buffalo Trace Bourbon. Stoked to finally try this one. Smells pretty darn good. taste s pitch black. nose is very roast forward, some sweet vanilla with cream and nutmeg. Nice taste. Loads of coffee and espresso bean. super roast forward. nice beer, very clean and delicious. I like this one a lot.

"I am a BIG fan of Buffalo Trace bourbon, and this bee, while still very good, makes me respect the amazing Grand Cru and Elijah Craig 18/20 yr blends even more. This was not quite in their league. Simpler, and a touch sweeter, with loads of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and a good touch of booze, atop a bed of roasted malts. LOVE all the variations of this stout - so much fun!"

July 1st Sunday. I have had several versions and this is better than the average (I think). Super smooth roast and chocolate, medium bourbon and vanilla notes. Just good.

2013 vintage at First Sunday. Ah yes, picking out a lot of what I remember of the base beer from the one other treatment I have had of this. Nice smooth roasty malt and milk chocolate flavors. Barrel adds a bit of tang and whiskey sweetness. Mellow on the barrel notes which lets the base beer come through pretty well. Nice.

2012 bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Yellow wax. I know 2012 isn’t in the vintage list, but my bottle is 1/2012 in little gold numbers just like the picture. Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma of dark treacle, chocolate and vanilla. Alcohol tickles my nose. Med + body or better. Flavor is very treacle, very bourbon/vanilla, and chocolate. Finishes drier than expected. Alcohol burns in my throat a bit. Not a problem in the mouth. Very tasty ale.
