Cocoa nibs and espresso aroma. Some bourbon in aroma but very subdued in flavor. Slight malt sweetness. Flavor lasted well after it was consumed. Great carbonation with 1/2 inches head.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2011 yellow waxed 22oz to my head. good beer, not the best variation ever, but its up there! carb level is med-low but acceptable. has just a wonderful aftertaste and mouthfeel, the mid, finishing and after taste are delicious! i am getting a ton of buttered rum and popcorn and whatnot, which i love, but it may not hold up as well aging.drink this one now!!! rarest and freshest! i do appreciate the variation of the barrels they have tried, but i do sort think they should focus on a few barreels that really show off the beer better. whiule this is still a delicous buttery stout., i think some of the other versions have been better overasll, but this one is just really good right now so nice and boozy. one of my faves, but overall probably not one of the best of the series. among the top 3 this year though.

Bottles from Capone’s, Smith’s, Blue Dog. Pours jet black, oily, thick, with minimal tan head. Nose is oaky bourbon, molasses, vanilla. Tastes thick and rich on the palate, with heavy oaky bourbon flavor, roasty dark malt, molasses, and prune. Finishes a bit hot, thivk, complex, and rich. This one is great.

Bomber, 2011 vintage. Poured deep brown with a short smoked tan head. The aroma was fairly heavy on the barrel, with sweet bourbon, vanilla, and coconut leading.. lightly-smoked black malts, milk chocolate, and a touch of honey supported.. warm on the back of the nose. The flavor found a great balance between the malts and the barrel.. vanilla, honey, and sweeter chocolates laced throughout, with dry, peppery oak on the edges.. finished with decadent malts and just the right level of alcohol oomph. Heavier-bodied with a creamy feel on the palate.. balance was spot-on.. this was excellent!

Vintage 2013 - Thanks Trady! Pours a nice extra dark brown with a solid sheet of dark tans. Smells of cocoa, minerals, oak, vanilla, nougat. Flavor is nice with silky fudge, more nougat, some coconut and oak with a vanilla stream. Really nice flavor. Full bodied with limited carb and a semi dry finish. Good beer. Interested to see how this compares to the Elijah Williams in the fridge.
