Black pour. Small forced tan head. Little bit of lacing. Nice aroma of chocolate maltiness with some coffee notes. Taste is a sweet melange of malt, chocolate, and figs with a bit of coffee. A bit grainy in the finish.

Bottle shared at Ed5388’s about 6 weeks ago. Poured a deep black body with a smaller beige head. Aroma of black coffee, dark burnt toast, creamer, earth, burnt malts. Medium body with stronger carbonation and lingering burnt aftertaste. Flavor of coffee, barrel, burnt toast, earth, charred wood and charcoal.

Bomber (noted 1/2013)from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown/black with a somewhat fizzy dark tan head. Aroma is gritty coffee with some definite bourbon showing through. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is coffee, followed by bourbon/vanilla, followed by a little, very little, heat, followed by coffee, followed by gullet burn. This is the sort of coffee suggesting coffee grounds. Flavors are all rather strong. Excellent.

Bottle shared by Mike - thanks! Pours opaque black with a small brown head that dissipates fairly quickly and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is coffee, a bit stale, vanilla, roasted malts, coconut, bourbon. Flavor is the same, light sweet and medium bitter. Medium body.

brystmar (1189) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 31, 2014
Dark brown color, minimal head; overly carbonated when poured. Bitter, black espresso alongside baker's chocolate. Coffee & booze lead the charge, but there's room for further depth here. Solid.

Leighton 10K tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark black - brown beer. Good tan head. Nice earthy coffee nose. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. Mild fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, little dry, some.dark malt cream. The coffee is rich but smooth, fresh and a little earthy. Light.dry finish. A very fine coffee beer. Well balanced and very drinkable.

Bottle, big thanks to Kenny. It pours filthy black with a decent tan head. The nose is rich, roasted malt, indulgent coffee, cocoa, toast, earth, toffee and touch of vanilla. The taste is bitter-sweet initial, then roasted malt, coffee, toast, chocolate, dirt, some alcohol warmth, toasty sugars, wood and vanilla with a slick finish. Full body, fine carbonation and viscous mouth-feel. Nice depth and surprisingly drinkable. Another Impy stout winner from FiftyFifty.

Bottle split at the Black (IPA) Friday tasting, big thanks to Kenwold, 09/05/14. Pitch black with a good sized tan head that retains well. Nose is big on coffee, roast malt, espresso, coffee grinds. Taste comprises big espresso, light roast, sweet licks, earthy cocoa, big coffee roastings, dark chocolate. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Super solid coffee loaded impy !
