Bottle from sean. Thanks man! Wow this is tremendous. Rich and full bodied, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, sweet rich chocolate fudge, brownie batter, just enough roast backbon to make this one a real winner.

Bottle... Hazy dark brown pour with a small, creamy, taupe head that scatters faster than you can say “quick.” The nose offers bourbon, caramel and chocolate, but no coffee. Medium to full-bodied with a thin mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor tilts toward the sweet side of balance, furnishing black malt and sweetened cafe con leche. The finish is a warm hug of mocha and bourbon. Obviously, there are some mocha notes, but the coffee component of this beer is largely suppressed. Bottle courtesy of ctipping. Thanks Collin!

Bottle courtesy of Colin. By far the most bitter of all the treatments with muted black coffee notes. Good body and mouthfeel. A very nice imperial stout...

TheAlum (4289) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Sampled at the CCB/RateBeer/Pre-Hunah Tasting (Tampa, FL). Pours a rich roasty blackish brown pour, darker with good opaque qualities. Frothy tannish head laces small as a ring. Aromas are coffee, cocoa, some vanilla and gentle spirit. Nice roasty quality, some creamy espresso elements. Initial is medium bodied, a touch more girth. Some richer coffee, cold press, with some espresso. Great flavots. Middle is a bit sticky, a touch underbodied. Richer coffee presence, whiskey, oak, vanilla from a firmer barrel presence. Good roast, toast, and toffee. Cocoa, vanilla, richer coffee flavors. Backend is more dry and roasty, toffee, more roasty and almost a touch acrid and dry as we move into the finish. Some vanilla, cream, espresso. Toffee, toast. Nice flavors, a touch underbodied. Nose takes a bit to get going but catches it’s stride as we move on. Fun and tasty one.

Bottle shared by a friend at the 5th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 1/26/13. Pitch black pour with a medium tan head. Malty and chocolatey nose with roasty coffee notes. Malty and chocolatey flavor. Some coffee in there too, but less than expected. Still pretty tasty.

Shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael. The beer is clear and sunshine yellow with a small white head. The aroma brings wine, flowers, grass, wheat, dandelions, yeast. The flavor offers pleasant spice character with delicious saison yeast characteristics. Light bodied and smooth on the palate. Nice honey taste with white grapes. White grape juice with mild sweetness. Very tasty.

Dogbrick (6029) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Sample from 2012 vintage at the 5th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/26/2013: Pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. The aroma is roasted coffee, bourbon and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, black coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is somewhat boozy with a lingering roast coffee aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark cola brown with a small tan head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. The aroma is lots of coffee, some chocolate, marshmallow, bourbon, vanilla, and coconut. Awesome. The taste has a bit of initial sweetness. There is lots of coffee, bourbon, vanilla, and some light coconut. The finish has a lot of coffee, some oak and some lingering bourbon with a very light astringency. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Amazing beer. It should probably be drank soon before the awesome coffee flavor fades.
