Bottle courtesy of GT2, thanks! Very dark brown, almost black, bright white edge head. Aroma of perfume, vanilla, whiskey. Taste is very smooth and rich coffee with dark cocoa in it and very subtle port and bourbon. Very nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of cocoapuph - thanks! Deep black pour with soft tan head. Light roast malt, vanilla creme, and faint oak. Flavor is sweet mix of vanilla creme, marshmallow, and lightly roasted malt. Some dark fruit. All smooth and without booze. Good palate presence, with thick malt qualities. A sweet imperial stout.

22 ounce thanks to adnielsen. Big black pour. Chocolate in the nose. Bourbon totally in the body. Not too heavy a beer. But that bourbon really carries it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
It pours a dark cola brown with a tan/orangy head. The aroma is an intense bourbon blast with alcohol, vanilla, caramel, raisins, plums and chocolate. Not as much roasted malt and more fruit forward. The flavor was a tiny bit of a letdown compared to the awesome aroma. It had delicious notes of bourbon, vanilla and some sweet caramel with hints of dark fruitness but it was a bit overly sweet lacking a second level of depth. Lots of sugary cola. There is a bit of roasted malt in the finish but not enough for my liking. The body is not as big as some stouts but very oily on the palate. Overall, this was a great beer. I loved the massive bourbon flavors, but the beer itself lacked the complexity of a world class imperial stout.

22 0z bottle (white wax). My 1st eclipse. Med/thin body. Immediately slammed by the whiskey it’s way overpowering and there’s not much stout to balance it out. Corked it and went back tne next day. Stillvery bourbon fwd but at room temp some vanilla swetnesss finishes off. A pretty good beer its growing on me but tne for the price not the best value.

Big thanks to Deuane for opening his newly purchased bottle for us to try. I was really looking forward to trying this one.
A - Pours black as night with a nice one finger tall tan head leaving light lace down the glass. A little light on the carbonation it seems...
S - Smells fairly similar to the 12yr. with a bit more barrel to it. Still has plenty of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee but the bourbon and oak have really taken this bottle over.
T - Starts off with a big dose of bourbon heat slowly giving way to a mix of sweet vanilla and chocolate and day old coffee grounds. Finish is pretty dry with plenty of oak tannins. Like the 12yr., I can only imagine how good this beer will be with some time on it.
M - Heavy body and flavor with moderately low carbonation. Fairly similar to the 12yr. in that has a smooth body, maybe a bit more booze and tannins in this version.
O - This one was pretty good, although not as good as the 12yr. I still have one of these in the cellar and I look forward to revisiting this one in the future.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This poured a medium to darker brown color with a tan head. Aroma was lots of oaky bourbon character, light char, some darker chocolate and not much else. Flavor was incredibly smooth barrel character, lots of vanilla and oak unfortunately the underlying beer did not shine through very well, was almost all barrel.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a trace of fizzy, tan head; short retention and no lacing. Aroma is scotch, dark chocolate, roasted malt, woody notes, dark fruit, and some earthy notes. Flavor is balanced malt and fruit esters with scotch undertones throughout; dry, ashy finish. Medium body and carbonation with high warmth.
