4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle, 2012. Dark brown with tan froth. Nose is dark chocolate, bourbon, wood and espresso. Coating mouthfeel, a bit chalky with a soft tingle and some heat. Taste is a great melding of chocolate, espresso and bourbon, each one stepping forward in the course of a single sip. Finishes roasty with fudge.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Définitivement celle où le bourbon est le plus présent mais c’est tellement bien balancé que ça se fond parfaitement avec le reste des saveurs, caramel, vanille, chocolat noir et une touche boisée. Buvabilité vraiment dangereuse.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweetly roasted malts, smooth bourbon left and right, caramely booze, honey undertones. Highly refined, much better than most of the 2011 variants. Not worth $30, pretty nice though.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
We did a taste testing of five different 50-50 2012 stouts. For the base stout, it’s quite frankly superb. Pours black, with a beautiful yellowish-white froth. Some coffee notes, little bitterness, but the predominating flavor is roasted malt.
Of the five, this and two others were in my second tier. Quite good, mind you, but very bourbony in flavor. If you enjoy a bourbon-infused stout, you can’t go wrong with this. The Evan Williams was the most "balanced" of the three, in that the bourbon flavor was present and near constant throughout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2010 vintage with the black wax. Consumed September 2012. Black with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and bourbon, with some nice oak and roasted malt character. When I first take a sip I notice this one is pretty boozy. It also has a lot of barrel aged notes. I get good bits of brown sugar, oak, vanilla and maple, as well as chocolate and roasted malt. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glad I got to try this one.

Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, and bitter coffee. Pours black with no head. Taste is black cherry, bitter coffee, and chocolate. Not my fav but solid.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
A nice small head with a foam lacing in my glass. The sweet bourbon scent stands out. I can smell bourbon, robust malts, a hint of vanilla, and chocolate. I taste bourbon, wood, and chocolate malts. There is a slight vanilla taste. Overall it is a solid brew. My palate was affected and it left a pleasant aftertaste.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From 2012 bottle, fresh. Appearance is not among my favorite stouts. Pours deep black with a thick, dark tan head. Aroma is top notch. Lots of vanilla from the bourbon and chocolate from the malt. Amazing how the bourbon notes come off as separate and not just as a singular "bourbon". Taste and mouthfeel are both spectacular. Overall, I have to knock off an additional point for value, as I feel like this beer is a bit overpriced in general. I would still put it in my top 5 stouts, though.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Steve’s Foco. Thanks! Pours a deep brown appearance with a small brown head. A bit boozy whiskey, lightly herbal, chocolate, mild caramel aroma. Quite burnt chocolate, caramel, chewy toffee, kind of boozy whiskey flavor with a bit of an herbal, vegetal note that I don’t like. The first one of the series I didn’t love.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark with a a small tan head. The aroma is almost nonexistent until it warms. It tuns to chocolate, roasted grain, and some booze. The taste is very nice. Nice and chewy with chocolate, coffee, and bourbon up front, followed by anise and soy sauce on the finish. This is very tasty.
