COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
4 versions of Eclipse this year. The lions share will go to Evan Williams Single Barrel. Barrels were 10-13 years old. These barrels were kept in an ambient temp storage situation. Approx 180 days in the wood. Should be somewhat bourbon forward with notable barrel character behind the spirit. Beer may have thinned due to storage temp and mild vinous notes based on oxygen pickup during aging. Estimated bottle count...3500. Subject to change...

Vintages:
2010 Imperial Eclipse Stout Evan Walker Single Barrel - (BLACK Wax)
2012 Imperial Eclipse Stout Evan Walker Single Barrel - (BLACK Wax)
2013 Imperial Eclipse Stout Evan Walker Single Barrel - (BLACK Wax)

Fourth of five in a flight at Pangea; palate is less dry; taste is sweet marshmallow, less chocolate than the Evan.

Bottle pours black tan khaki head. Smells tastes oak wood bourbon heavy very fresh. Dark sugars fruits. Hint vinillia. Wow booze flavor heavy. Nice thick texture. But sticky not bad. Small fizz on tongue. Over all a awesome beer I’d prob let it age a bit bourbon stings throat. Good shit.

DocLock (7824) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle shared with a pal after midnight on New Year’s Day with an Oliva Series V Robusto. The pour was thick jet black with minimal head. Nose was bourbon and oak-forward, with dark malt, anise, and blackberry hints. Tasted really thick and rich, with the oaky bourbon spirits hammering the palate, and keeping pace with my intense full-bodied 92 rated Cigar Aficionado cigar. Possibly my favorite 50/50 Eclipse beer thus far.

22oz bottle. 2012 vintage. Poured a black color with brown edges and a smaller size off white head. Aromas of roast, wood, earthy, chocolate, and some bourbon. Tastes of chocolate, bourbon, woody, lighter vanilla, and some dark fruits. More bourbon in the tastes. Alcohol overall well hidden.

22oz bottle, 2010 vintage, black wax, bottle #121, received in trade. Thanks Michael! Pours a jet black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, some light bourbon. Medium to heavy on the palate with light, soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, smooth bourbon, some light oak, with a light bourbon finish. Very easy drinking. Wish it were more accessible. And cheaper. But very tasty.

Bottle at DBS on a taster. Palate that doesn't hit as hard as the Rittenhouse Rye, but has a wide, bright and bitter edge to it, yet finishes nicely. Very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 1866. 2010 Vintage. Very black, no head. Distinct bourbon aroma. Full bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Warming and pleasant with milk chocolate, licorice and bourbon. The bourbon marries this imperial stout exceptionally well. Damn good!

Bottle number 1866, 2010 vintage. Black pour, short tan head. Lasting spotty lace. Nose has big bourbon, some roast. Taste has big roasted malt with coffee. Some wood/barrel at the end, nice dryness. Aftertaste of roast, coffee, bourbon. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Well done.

Boutip (4662) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small dark brown foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of vanilla and bourbon are quite strong with some coffee notes also discernable. Taste is a mix between some coffee notes with black chocolate and some nice vanilla notes with smooth bourbon notes on top of it. Body is full with good creamy texture and medium carbonation with no alcohol notes perceptible. Very nice beer and definitely makes me want to discover more beers from this brewery.
