3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a deep tan head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of dark grains, roasted malts, vanilla and a good amount of bourbon. Flavor has bourbon up front with dark chocolate, roasted malts and coffee in the finish.

4oz sampler -
Stopped by one the way up to Reno and they had this one on tap. I asked the server which barrels they used and he confirmed it was Evan Williams. Aroma has a nice balance of bourbon, vanilla, wood, light chocolate and a touch toasted malts. Flavors really focus on the bouron and wood and the rich malts kind of take a back seat. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Seems to be overly unbalanced with the bourbon, but still a really nice sipper.

Bottle. Black with no head. Chocolate bourbon vanilla and light oak aroma and taste with honey notes on the back end and the bourbon coming across fairly smooth with a velvety palate.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle shares at ahabs house. One of the best bourbon treatments. Amazing vanilla flavors, the background stout is slightly overwhelmed. Oh well, grand slam.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, 2010 vintage, bottle #2235. Pours black with an offwhite head. Smells simply gorgeous, with heavy bourbon. Tastes of a mild bitter, and a medium sweetness; very alcoholic, but extremely tasty. Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Finishes sticking sweet. An excellent beer!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had many of the eclipse series together. This is the 10 vintage. Pour is jet black and thin tan head. Nose is woody, bourbon, and some light chocolate. Sweet malts, sugary, and some dark fruits in the flavor. Dark chocolate underneath with bourbon and wood coming through strong. Full bodied feel, dry finish and low carbonation. Overly sweet with loads of wood and heat. Less complexity than the 4 roses and just as unintegrated.

22oz bomber at the QC tasting, pours black with a thin tan head, there was a huge sweet aroma with a good amount of vanilla and wood, the flavor had a nice front end of chocolate with a good amount of oak and booze coming through, a slight chocolate finish, really well done.

Bottle sample thanks to BA Iowahawk! Dark black pour, minimal carbonation and a nice whiskey, vanilla and wood aroma. Flavor is rich dark malt, slick chocolate, oaky booze and a warming boozy aftertaste. Probably my favorite beer of the night, thanks for bringing this one out!
