COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
4 versions of Eclipse this year. The lions share will go to Evan Williams Single Barrel. Barrels were 10-13 years old. These barrels were kept in an ambient temp storage situation. Approx 180 days in the wood. Should be somewhat bourbon forward with notable barrel character behind the spirit. Beer may have thinned due to storage temp and mild vinous notes based on oxygen pickup during aging. Estimated bottle count...3500. Subject to change...

Good tan-cream head over black beer. Vanilla/Bourbon jumping out of the glass, sweet, luxurious, roasted. Sweet, Bourbon, vanilla, but also sweet ossewit(animal deepfrying fat, sweet). Roastiness is very low, for an Imperial Stout; Medium to well-bodied, utterly slick. Excellent, with some surprising touches, Todd.

Aroma is malts, liquor, lightly bourbon, nuts, roasted malts. Taste malts, lightly roasted malts, slightly bourbon, chocolate, lightly bitter, nuts, a bit sweetness from the alcohol. Medium to full body, smooth texture, suitable carbonation. Awesome beer!

Bottle, 2013 vintage, shared with Parksy and JJ (while watching Hobo With A Shotgun). Hearty near-black pour, low dark brown head. Chocolate and roast marry nicely to sweet bourbon notes without being boozy at all, some aniseed, treacle notes. Very balanced, and second only to the Four Roses barrel in this series. Fantastic.

22 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Bottle run #1/2013 with black wax clocking in at 11.9% ABV. Black with two fingers of tan head. Aromas of sweet bourbon, oak, some vanilla and honey. Mostly bourbon on the nose but very nice. Tastes of bourbon, dark chocolate, oak, sweet dark fruit and maybe a little berry-like note, a bit of honey. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Low carbonation. Nicely balanced bourbon. Alcohol is very well masked for 11.9%.
