COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
4 versions of Eclipse this year. The lions share will go to Evan Williams Single Barrel. Barrels were 10-13 years old. These barrels were kept in an ambient temp storage situation. Approx 180 days in the wood. Should be somewhat bourbon forward with notable barrel character behind the spirit. Beer may have thinned due to storage temp and mild vinous notes based on oxygen pickup during aging. Estimated bottle count...3500. Subject to change...

Vintages:
2010 Imperial Eclipse Stout Evan Walker Single Barrel - (BLACK Wax)
2012 Imperial Eclipse Stout Evan Walker Single Barrel - (BLACK Wax)
2013 Imperial Eclipse Stout Evan Walker Single Barrel - (BLACK Wax)

From a tap at the brewery.I can faintly smell the whiskey and has well balance with not being an overwhelming flavor.A nice thick motor oil texture with a sweet taste.

2010 bottle #2071 from a trade or possibly DLD 2012. My second shot at an Eclipse. Big beer that is done well. Obviously lots of bourbon but also lots of coffee, especially in the finish. The coffee lends some bitterness too. Much less sweeter than the cognac version. Good.

Bad ass blusey, boozy bourbon kissed Imperial Stout. Sweetish with the vanilla, but never cloying. Molasses, roast and good ol southern charm. Top notch.

22oz bottle, shared by dudeabide. Bottle has black wax, labeled 2012 vintage, "BR 1". Was room temperature when I sampled it but that didn’t bother me at all. Very dark brown, near black color. Little khaki, light brown head. Couple dots of lace. Bigger body. Chewy texture. Light, smooth carbonation. Great woody barrel aroma. Cocoa nibs, some coffee, some dark fruit. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, light alcohol warmth. Solid stuff, whichever variant this is [took my notes on paper last night, only figured out the variant today from a photo]

2012 vintage, bottle from Sugaya, shared at a dark beer tasting. Dark brown pour almost black, almost no head. The nose is BIG barrel character, oaky, whiskey, boozy nose. Smooth silky mouthfeel, sweet, roasty, barrel oaky. The nose makes you expect booziness but when you taste it you get some warming it isn’r at all boozy. The star of the tasting, the barrel aging was prominent in the nose but subtle in the taste which I really loved.

Bottle @ tasting. Thnx to bytemesis for sending me this. Pours a pitch black beer with a small beige head on top. Aroma has bourbon characters, slightly more booze and some spicy notes going on. Flavor has a bit more balanced sweetness going on, slight peppery notes and a spicy notes. Aftertaste is a bit hot, boozy. A bit more balanced than the previous one. Very nice brew still.

Bottle @ vertical eclipse tasting, thanks Mr. Hangover! Aroma is big Bourbon, vanilla, wood, toffee, caramel, liquorice, chocolate, light alcohol and more. Flavour is smooth chocolate, vanilla, oak, more vanilla, molasses, roast, caramel, some alcohol, imho a little bit more smooth then the old Fitzgerald, but also slightly more alcoholic somehow. Great.

Bottle cracked at mrhangover’s place at his epic Eclipse tasting. Pours very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is heavy chocolate, some coffee, lots of bourbon, smooth and a buttload of vanilla. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Very smooth edition. Full bodied with thick texture and a chocolate finish.
