4 versions of Eclipse this year. The lions share will go to Evan Williams Single Barrel. Barrels were 10-13 years old. These barrels were kept in an ambient temp storage situation. Approx 180 days in the wood. Should be somewhat bourbon forward with notable barrel character behind the spirit. Beer may have thinned due to storage temp and mild vinous notes based on oxygen pickup during aging. Estimated bottle count...3500. Subject to change...

Bottled, FiftyFifty 2010 Imperial Eclipse Stout (Evan Williams Single Barrel), thanks baggio! Very black, no head. Distinct bourbon aroma. Full bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Warming and pleasant with milk chocolate, licorice and bourbon. The bourbon marries this imperial stout exceptionally well. Damn good!

Bottle, 22oz. 2012 vintage. An almost clear one, at least it looks so. Hard to tell actually, it’s really dark brown in color. A small, dark beige head sits on top. The aroma is roasted and lightly coffeeish, with a sugary spiced touch, some booze, dark chocolate and toffee. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, perhaps a bit sweet, and with a nice carbonation level. Roasted malts, caramel sugary malts, some bourbon and wood, a spiced hint and some licorice. Lasting finish. Nice indeed, a sipper well worth a try. 140616
