Stopped by one the way up to Reno and they had this one on tap. I asked the server which barrels they used and he confirmed it was Evan Williams. Aroma has a nice balance of bourbon, vanilla, wood, light chocolate and a touch toasted malts. Flavors really focus on the bouron and wood and the rich malts kind of take a back seat. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Seems to be overly unbalanced with the bourbon, but still a really nice sipper.

It pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up modest notes of dark roasted malts, chocolate, earthy chocolate malts and mild bourbon barrel notes. The taste has a pleasing richness to be sure with dark roasted malts, some sweet molasses, chocolate brownie and then a slightly tart bourbon barrel essence. This is rich and smooth and yummy.

Black pour, thin off white cream head and light lacing .... aroma of coconut, roasted malts, vanilla, bourbon and light chocolate .... taste is of coconut, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, licorice, oaky, light bourbon and some bitter hop ...... mouthfeel is oily, slick, and soft .... bitter dry hoppy finish with a lingering roastedness ... excellent, abv hidden well and very drinkable

Bottle thanks to Dave, black wax 2012 version. Pours a jet black color with a small beige head. A huge barrel nose of vanilla, chocolate and sugars. Lots of brown malty flavors, oak big barrel, vanilla, roast, loads of sugary dark fruity. Very good as are all of the eclipse brews.

Very dark brown, clear, beige head. Aroma of cocoa, dark bread crusts, nutty notes, raisins, moderate bourbon. Flavor: deep malt with dark bread (pumpernickel), dark fruit, nutty notes, cocoa, cola, great balance.

Split a 22oz bottle of the 2012 vintage three ways. Poured a dark black color with a dark tan head. Aroma was sweet malts - plenty of barrle notes - not as smooth as the other three I had that night. Plenty of whiskey notes - Evan Williams, some vanilla notes, roasted character. Wish it was just a touch more mellowed out.

Bottle share by Brian/Ryan, dark reddish brown/tea colored. Has a noticeable boozy aroma, nice chocolate and some oak. Taste is dark fruit, chocolate, nice barrel notes.

April 25, 2013 - bottle via trade. Very dark brown pour with head that left a thin film. Nice bourbon in the aroma and taste. Another great beer in the series.

Bomber - thanks Ryan! Deep cola / dark brown pour. Smaller frothy head. Nice whiskey/bourbon nose with roasty malts. Smooth palate. Chocolate and roast coffee taste. Awesome.

Had on draft at the brewery. Raisin, alcohol, minty, hot alcohol, barrel thinned this out, bitter chocolate, warming, woody, spicy. A solid beer.
