Bottle. The pour is dark with some head. The aroma has some subtle bourbon. The taste is amazingly smooth. One of the better bourbon beers I'be has lately.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Odense Late Summer Post-Munkekonge Whale Spotting Night. 2013 vintage. Black with a small, but lasting tan head. The well balanced aroma has licorice, chocolate and bourbon with a faint charcoal note. Sweet, roasted flavour with nice bourbon character. Very tasty, though perhaps a little bit on the sugary sweet side for my taste, and with a little too much burnt character in the finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Massive aromas of bourbon, milk chocolate, toffee, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee bean oils and earthy hops. Black appearance with a thin tan rim. Taste is very dry chocolate, toffee, oak, espresso, and dry maple. Bourbon is accented well on the finish which is more dry dark chocolate and big booze. Dark fruits shine as it warms. Overall, really nice imp stout with really dry chocolate overtones and some nice espresso notes. Don’t really pick up any honey on the palate though. A rating.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Red wax 22oz 2013. Poured a dark black with a foamy deep beige head. Aroma of heat, chocolate, whiskey, rye, wood, dry pudding skins. Palate is good, mediu, to full, slightly creamy, softer carbonation and a lingering aftertaste with some heat. Flavor of alcohol, dry chocolate, burnt toast, rye, burnt chocolate malts, some burnt ash. Not bad but not worthy of the big $$$.
