4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hopscotch (8215) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 11, 2013
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy dark brown pour with a small, fat-bubbled, lightly-tanned head. Decent retention. The bouquet is a blend of bourbon, caramel, fudge, black malts and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied and watery with gentle carbonation. The flavor is medium-sweet, offering black malt, brownies, fudge and whiskey. Finishes a touch boozy and mildly sweet! World class beer provided by a world class guy, 50belair!

Bottle. More chocolate in the nose. Unfortunately it taste like there is quite a bit of the Evan Williams (my least favorite treatment) in this blend. Still, I dig those those caramel malt, vanilla, oak, and dark roasted malts. Good body and mouthfeel. A very nice imperial stout...

Thanks Brad! Smooth, roasty, barrel character is nicely in check. Shows a level of refinement rarely seen in the Eclipse beers. Really good.

Dark beer with a small beige head. Rich sweet bourbon nose. Flavors of molasses, bourbon barrel, vanilla, oak, buttered toast and a nice alcohol bloom as it warms. This is a really nice sipping beer.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cory (78) - , California, USA - MAR 12, 2013
Bottle. Aroma has mocha and vanilla with a little peat. Full body with a clean short finish. Taste is sweet and a little bitter. Very dark color. If only I had more than one. You definitely get the bourbon and oak from the aging in the aroma towards the finish but it doesn’t overwhelm the other aromas.

Thanks to Chance for sharing.
The beer is dark brown with a thin beige head. Typical Eclipse appearance. The aroma offers a hint of coffee, big oak presence, light roast and a touch of coffee. Delicious flavor. A standout in the Eclipse series. Beautiful balance, wonderfully smooth on the palate. Very tasty.

Bottle thanks Dan! Pours black with nice tan head. Big toffee boozy aroma. Taste is thick and yummy.

Black pour with a small tan head. Dark fruit on the nose, almost a brandy quality to it. Nice bourbon, oak, and roasted malt. Plenty of dark chocolate, some fudge, vanilla, and coffee, too. Molasses and toffee sweetness. Tastes of vanilla, bourbon, oak, dark fruit, and chocolate. A nice, but moderate sweetness of toffee and molasses, roasted malt, coffee, and a hint of alcohol.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 Zymurgeist2 (625) - Redwood City, California, USA - DEC 12, 2012
On tap at Gourmet Haus. Pours an opaque black with some very slight brown highlights. Head dissipates quickly and had large bubble whilst it lasted. Lots of chocolate on the aroma with some vanilla from the barrels coming through. Taste of chocolate and deep, dark fruit. The barrels provide some nice balance to this beer with subtle vanilla flavor in support. Overall, very good but seemingly lacking some of the complexity of some of the other barrels. Taste opened nicely as it warmed.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ineedbeer (184) - San Leandro, California, USA - DEC 12, 2012
On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt.
Aroma is a nice blend of chocolate with light roast character. Good vanilla in the back of aroma. As it has warmed the fruit becomes more apparent with some fig and prune.
Pours a dark brown to black with dark brown notes on the edges. Head is a light tan color and recedes fairly quickly.
Flavor starts out sweet with a lot of vanilla and a touch of oak. Sweet chocolate notes with a bit of dark fruit. As it has warned the alcohol and bourbon character is a bit more noticeable in the finish. A nutty chocolate note in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is super creamy. Moderate low carbonation. No astringency and moderate alcohol heat.
A really enjoyable beer, especially as it warns and opens up. The beer definitely opens up and becomes more enjoyable.
