Pour black, with a very thin brownish hue, and a huge light off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, drak fruits, caramel, slight vanilla, some wood, slight boozy sweet notes. Plenty of goodness in this one. Taste is pretty sweet upfront, with some faint roasty notes towards the end. Semi-full body, with a perfect amount of flat carb. Big thanks to The Ryan for sending me this.

2011 bottle at Apex. Aroma is chocolate, brandy, dates, hint of oak. Full bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel, hint of booze on the finish. Taste is date, caramel, brandy, oak, booze. Surprisingly hot after 4 years.

Bottle, 2011 vintage, opened 2014. Purple-black in color, not overly muddy. One finger of tan froth. Sweet and fruity nose. Prunes, mostly, though milk chocolate and vanilla beans appear as well. Smooth flavor. Chocolate and dark fruits blend, with moderate bitterness finishing things up. Age has helped the blend but has muted the flavors a bit. Very low CO2 in an oily medium-full body. Overall: good not great. A smooth, easy drink for how big it is, though.

Pours thicker coffee black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is light vanilla and big sweet barrel without complex roasted malts. Flavor is so my better bringing big chocolatey and sweet coffee malts so smooth on the palate! The chocolate settles so nicely on the tongue with vanilla and spice.

2011 bottle. Black, small tan head. Big and sweet, barrel adds very little. Some harsh alcohol in the finish.

wasn’t sure I’d like this one, but it worked pretty dang well. added sweetness and complexity with the brandy/chocolate combo unique and tasty.

Bomber from Mikkeller webshop. Vintage 2011, bottle #2494. Pours a deep black with a 2 finger tan head that disappates quite fast. Aroma of burnt rubber, licorice, brandy, honey, oak, booze, hints of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Taste is licorice, cacao, smoke, oak, tar, toned down notes of brandy, dark chocolate, vanilla, boozy with a medium bitter finish. Thick, velvety mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Quite different from the last Eclipse (Bernheim wheat) I had.

Sampled at 2011 RBWG. Pours near black with a thin beige head. The nose is cocoa, brandy, vanilla. The taste follows the nose with plenty of boozy barrel in the flavor. Body is creamy. Tasty.

21.05.2014, 0,65l bottle (2011 vintage, bottle #2158) @ BBGTC tasting:
Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is very mild, dark malts, licorice, alcohol, oak, grass, sour coffee, hay, broth, minerals. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, dark sugar, oak, dark malts, alcohol, grass, sour coffee, licorice, hay, minerals. Medium to longlasting bitterness, very smooth - still slightly harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.
