Bottle from Mikkeller webshop. Vintage 2013 with silver wax. Pours a dark brown to black with a tan almost 2 finger head that disappates quite fast with a nice lacing. Aroma is boozy, bourbon upfront with honey, vanilla, roasted malt, licorice, oak, dark chocolate, coffee and burnt rubber. Taste is oak, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, roasted malt, espresso, alcohol, sweet, dark fruits with a raosted, slightly bitter and boozy finish. On the palate its oily, smooth and creamy. A nice Eclipse but not the best of them.

2013 vintage. Dark brown to black pour with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of sweet whiskey character as well as some maple, oak, chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is a bit different. I get some more heavily charred oak notes as well as some heavily roasted malt and chocolate. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Last bottle of Juneauís beer club. Thanx Reece. Iím looking at the bottle number and it says "Bottle Run No. 2/2013." This was poured into a sample glass. The appearance was a thick dark brown color with a nice looking half fingered white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. There was barely any lacing. The smell definitely had the bourbon barrel still strong with a light deep caramel malt involved and some milk chocolate running all about it. The taste had a nice sweet bourbon to sweet chocolate running all over my tastebuds. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with not much sessionability about it, but then again, this was consumed as the last beer in the beer tasting tonight. Overall, though part of a beer tasting, I could definitely see this as a stellar night cap in a cold Southeastern Alaskan winterís night. Too bad these guys donít actually send their beers to AK and my buddy had to trade for it.

Bottle, shared at game night. Hearty dark pour, creamy tan head. Quite a big whiskey presence, but devoid of harshness or burn. The balance between the base stout and the bourbon is nearly exact, in that the sweetness is restrained and the booze character is expressive but not overpowering. Missing some of the character traits I look forward to in these types of beers (no toasted coconut for example), but still a treat.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours "black" with a 3 finger dark tan head. Aroma is bourbon with a touch of treacle. Med + body. Foamy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, quickly followed by bourbon/vanilla and then dark treacle. Alcohol burns my tongue a bit. The whisky character is quite firm. Think I detect oak, but itís questionable. Very, very tasty.

Draught at Mikkeller&Friends. Pitch black - brown head. Lots of coconut. Burned. Dried fruits. Nice wooden. Licorice. Light bitterness. Dark chocolate. Lovely.

Bomber bottle vintage 2013. Near black with tan head. Aroma with faint bourbon notes, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is similar, soft and pleasant.
