Bottle. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt and bourbon wood aroma. Medium to full body and smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy complex bourbon sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations and could be a standout with some age.

22oz bottle from Capones. With Paul looking over my shoulder I will say only that this is quite the obtuse beer. Although there is some isosceles on the finish. Mellow, slight hint of gold, surprizingly sober...tasty.

BR2/2012. Krämig och fyllig. Lite spritig men ingen fara när man är lite avtrubbad. Riktigt fin och balanserad i övrigt

22 oz. bottle shared by Eric S. at Phatdog1’s house. BR 1 written on the front label. Pitch black with light head retention. When the stout is swirled around it leaves an oily film around the edges. Nice mellow whiskey notes of oak and vanilla. Flavor starts off sweet with toffee, with vanilla and marshmallow through the middle. After the sip I did get a slightly different aftertaste I haven’t experienced in a stout. I have never had Mellow Corn Whiskey but… I have to say that must be the influence. The texture on my tongue was oily with the body in the medium range. I didn’t pick up any of the 9% ABV level. For me I really liked it and can’t wait to try some of the other barrels.

22oz bottle pours a oily black with a small tan head. Bourbon vanilla and malt aroma. Taste is the same with a bit of a dark fruit finish.

Bottle. Split with Tom and Chris. Pours pitch black. Beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate fudge, cherries, honey, and whiskey. Mouth is full and creamy. Taste is chocolate and cherries with some booze in the finish. Pretty damn delicious.

2012 gold wax bootle. i’ll be damned if i didn’t enjoy this. pleasant dark roasty chocolate. coffe offered (accpeted). bourbon chill compliment. molasses also offered. chocolately sweetness balanced nicely by roasty dark chocolate bitterness, and some soft bourbon barrel notes. pretty good.

Poured this at a good temperature with an average sized light brown, foamy head that soon settled to a splotchy cover and ring with a bit of lace. Color is an opaque black brown. Aroma is molasses, malt, roast, vanilla and on the mild side. Flavor’s like nose, sweet is dominant, backed with good carbonic tang and just right bitter, well balanced. Honey is in the background along with oak. Body/carbonation are perfect. Finish is just a tad warming, just like flavor, and tapers moderately. Easy drinking. Very good.
