2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by Adam. Thanks! Was intrigued to give this a go, knowing what mellow corn actually is. Part of me also wishes that Todd would just focus on figuring out the best use of barrels rather than release a dozen of these, half of which aren’t that great. But I digress. Pours a deep black, oil with a brown head. Nose is hot, fusel with caramel and booze, faint apple. Roast and molasses. Also strongly oxidized and oaky. On tasting, it is thin bodied. Distinct roast and big booze quotient. Really a huge let down relatively speaking.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a black body with a large creamy light beige head. Nose is wood, vanilla, boozy nail polish remover-ish tones, corn, chocolate, grains, hints of coffee and licorice. Taste is dark chocolate, booze, coconut, peanuts, brown sugar, bourbon, hints of coffee, vanilla, leather, licorice and wood. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. The taste profile is fortunately a lot better than the aroma, but all in all this is the least impressive specimen of this series for me so far.

Looks like every other eclipse variant. Nose was sweeter than others with a bit more cocoa and rye spiciness. vanilla is dominating. Oily with a thick mouthfeel. this one has aged really well. Sweet throughout, a touch of coconut and charred oak at the finish.
