2012 bottle from Draknole. Deep black pour with a mocha brown head. Aroma hits you as you pour- roasted malt and bourbon. Taste is creamy delisciousness, roasted malt side by side with the bourbon. Sweet, black patent bitterness. Chewy beer. Nice lacing and the beer clings to the side of the glass.

Sample from bottle. Black pour with a tan head. Dark chocolate, vanila, sweet caramel, bourbon, milk chocolate, roast, oak, and a bit boozy. Pretty good.

Bomber to snifter (2012 vintage; shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a fairly opaque dark cola with beige lacing. Smells good too; bourbon, vanilla, and dark malt with a sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Bottle, 04/19/2013. 2012 version. Pours black, light tan creamy head, fades to espresso crema on the surface, fine bubbled lacing. Aroma of caramel chocolate brownie, bitter coffee and dark roast, sweet vanilla bourbon, boozy. Taste is rich chocolate malts, caramel, licorice and coffee roast, wood, bourbon. Typical of most from this series, palate is thick, creamy. Nice one.

A - Dark black with a touch of brown and a finger of frothy khaki-chocolate head. Fades normal. S - Chocolate and dark caramel malts, molasses, Bourbon, vanilla, oak, black licorice, dark cocoa, coffee, booze. T - Sweet dark chocolate and caramel malts, Bourbon, vanilla, oak, molasses, coffee, black licorice, bitter dark cocoa, touch of dark fruit, and some booze. M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and a bit syrupy with a warming, sweet, and lightly spicy finish. D - Great barrel aged stout. The bourbon is a very smooth.

4/11/13. Bomber. Tasted side by side with 4 other Eclipses. Krunk. Black pour with a nice tan head. Forward whiskey aroma for sure, boozey and strong, not as subtle or mellow as the others. Rich strong forward whiskey flavor as well, boozey, almost a bit much. Perhaps my least favorite along with the corn.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy dark brown ale with a small, creamy, fleeting, khaki head. The nose furnishes notes of bourbon, caramel, chocolate and leather. Medium to full-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and subdued carbonation. The flavor is an excellent merger of bourbon, deep-roast malt, fudge and moderate sweetness. Finishes bourbony-hot and comforting. World class beer shared by a world class dude, landhoney!

Bottle shared by Seth. One of the better treatments in my opinion. Dark brown pour with a tan head. I really dig those those caramel malt, vanilla, oak, and dark roasted malts. Good body and mouthfeel. A very nice imperial stout...

Bottle at Bruce’s, thanks to Ken. It pours opaque dark brown with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, caramel vanilla, fudge, coconut and mocha. The taste is roasty, light toast, floral, wood, vanilla, booze, fudge, toffee and marshmallow with a warming finish. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Another rather tasty Eclipse offering.
