Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a mellow dark molasses and bourbon flavor with a warm trail.

Bottle @ vertical eclipse tasting, thanks Mr. Hangover! Aroma is big Bourbon, toffee, caramel, liquorice, molasses, oak, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, some tar. Wow. Flavour is creamy chocolate, vanilla, oak, roast, more chocolate, molasses, liquorice, some alcohol, more vanilla, some anise. Awesome.

Bottle @ tasting. Thnx to Bytemesis for sending me this. 2012 Vintage. Pours a pitch black beer with a small brown head on top. Aroma has massive wood, bourbon characters, barrel and roasted malts. Also some faint peat influences detected. Flavor is very sweet, bourbon and caramel. Touches of vanilla and again decent barrel characters. Aftertaste is long and cloying mouthfeel. Very well balanced, Very nice beer!

Bottle shared at mrhangover’s place at his epic Eclipse tasting. Pours very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is big bourbon, licorice, coffee and chocolate. Taste is incredibly smooth balanced. Lots of coffee in the finish. Moderate to heavy sweet and quite some bitterness. Full bodied. Awesome.

Bottle. Courtesy of Tom. Had this after I got back from Alla Spina, so it was nice and lukewarm. Pours bloody, dark cherry, black in certain light, with a fine ring of bubbles along the rim of the glass. Aroma is vanilla, cinnamon, honey, bourbon, oak, toffee, and dark chocolate. Silky, loose mouthfeel. Taste is heavy on chocolate, with some raisin, bourbon, and vanilla in the middle and finish. Great taste, but it needs a sturdier, heavier palate to carry the flavors and support the heat. I prefer the fresher Eclipse out of the two I tried tonight.

Bottle. 2012. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of bourbon, oak, vanilla, honey, roast chocolate, milk chocolate and dark fruit. Slightly sweet. Great balance. Slightly less than medium bodied for the style.

2012 bottle. Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Nose is roast, booze, marshmallow, wood, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, and some honey. Flavor is similar with honey and chocolate up front, some light booze and honey in the mid, and booze, oak, chocolate, and bourbon on the finish with a wood and chocolate lingering. Light to medium in body and interesting overall.
