4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Blue Wax bomber from Nugget in Davis, CA. Pours very dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma is bourbon, coffee, chocolate, treacle. Bourbon and chocolate seem tied. Full bodied, definitely. Trace of heat. Strong chocolate start, quick shit to bourbon/vanilla, oak pops in, and treacle washes away. It’s extremely tasty stuff and finishes pretty much like it starts. Delicious.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, London - big thanks to Ken for another great one. Pours deep, brown-black with a frothy, beige foam head. Aroma holds lots of dark fruits, some alcohol, nips of strawberries and dark chocolate. Big sweet flavor, lots of dark bread, plenty of dark fruits, blackberries, mellow chocolate, some burnt wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, fairly dry with all the burnt wood, some burnt brown sugar, bits of vanilla, hard alcohol, cake. Sweet, rich, pretty dry, goody roasty malts...I like it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy dark brown ale with a small, creamy, fleeting, khaki head. The nose furnishes notes of bourbon, caramel, chocolate and leather. Medium to full-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and subdued carbonation. The flavor is an excellent merger of bourbon, deep-roast malt, fudge and moderate sweetness. Finishes bourbony-hot and comforting. World class beer shared by a world class dude, landhoney!
