2012 bottle marked BR/3 with blue wax. Since I missed the tasting at Pangea, i decided to have my own tasting party! Prost! Have been very excited about this had to wait umtil my cold passed to enjoy. Aroma is of bourbon, roasted barley, chocolate. Flavour is similar very chocolaty. Pretty sweet, finishes sweet and sticky, i presume this is from the honey, maybe thats what my homebrew bourbon barrel stout needed because i like the thick mouthfeel on this. The bourbon is very balanced. One of the best i’ve ever had, well worth the price!

Fresh from 2012 bottle. Aroma of chocolate, smoked malt, and bourbon. Pitch black with nice tan/light brown head. Fantastic taste/mouthfeel. Best of the Eclipse series IMO this year (so far)

22oz bottle pours a dark brown color without a bit of head that quickly dissipates. Flavors of toffee, raisins and bourbon that are mild and balanced. A superb barrel aged stout. A lot of flavor and yet very reserved.

Bottle. Bless the person who brought this back on a recent trip up to Truckee and brought this back. What a stunningly tasty impy stout. It’s always nice to find a gem like this, especially when there’s no hype involved, no "Day" attached to it, no gimmicks. Just a fantastic beer. The beer pours out a blacker than black color, viscuous and a 1-finger thick tan head. The head stayed thruought the entire time drinking, and had a nice creamy feeling. The aroma was bursting with coffee, malted chocolate (dark chocolate Whoppers anyone?), brown sugar, tobacco and vanilla. Amazing. The creamy-smooth mouthfeel was just a pleasure. The flavor had just the perfect blending of everything I love in my stouts. Deep, rich chocolate, roasted coffee beans, bourbon, vanilla, molasses...again...amazing. Everything was so well put together. Nothing really stood out. Reminded me of the perfect rock band...everything playing as one, harmonizing and creating something intense and wonderful.

La reine incontestée des 4 cuvée de notre dégustation horizontale, une véritable fondue au chocolat noir et bourbon, encore une fois les saveurs se tiennent serrés, vraiment solide résultat.

Bottle thanks to TheBeerSommelier! Pours black with a nice tan head. Beautiful aromas of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate and dark fruits. Med body with layers of vanilla, light bourbon, oak tannins, chocolate and light coffee. Smooth finish with bigger barrel notes and some heat.

WOW, I have not been this impressed with an Impy for quite some time. Dark chocolate, toasted oak, coffee and caramel nose. Clean and decadently rich on the palate with an almost delicate mouthfeel. Very complex and rounded with flavors that compliment each other from beginning to ever so wonderful lingering end. Todd may be Flossmoor’s loss but he is definitely our gain.

2012. Awesome. Dark pour, brown head. Lots of nice bourbon, vanilla, oak, caramel, chocolate notes. Very rich, somewhat sweet. One of my favorite treatments yet. Well done!

A - Dark black with a touch of brown and a finger of frothy khaki-chocolate head. Fades normal. S - Chocolate and dark caramel malts, molasses, Bourbon, vanilla, oak, black licorice, dark cocoa, coffee, booze. T - Sweet dark chocolate and caramel malts, Bourbon, vanilla, oak, molasses, coffee, black licorice, bitter dark cocoa, touch of dark fruit, and some booze. M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and a bit syrupy with a warming, sweet, and lightly spicy finish. D - Great barrel aged stout. The bourbon is a very smooth.
