Tasting at Ale Arsenal. Something about the Pappy that makes a ticker go cray-cray. The appearance is typical black with a well-formed small tan head leaving swirls. On the aroma OH CRAP ITíS PAPPY! The smell of pappy is intoxicating. The rarity and exclusiveness is delicious and to make matters better itís backed up by freaking Eclipse, which is a god among beers. The flavor is balanced, as usual for Eclipse. I canít drink a whole bottle of this because Iím a ticker, but otherwise daaaaaamn gurl you fine! Chocolate, molasses, subtle roast, and that Pappy. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. And Iím done.

Bottle shared. Pours dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma shows off the pappy upfront with vanilla, oak and the bourbon, chocolate, boozy. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Had this on a very special day. Congrats Sis and Sebastian! Black/dark brown/reddish with a brown ring at the edge of the glass. Aroma has bourbon, figs/plums, alcohol and dark chocolate. Can smell this beer from 1 meters distance. Taste has peppery bourbon, dark chocolate, roasted malt, some sweetness, some hop bitterness. Medium body, prickly carbonation, pretty smooth. Dry, bitter, chocolatey aftertaste with some alcohol burn.

(Pink wax) Bottle... Pours dark brown (nearly black) with no head. The nose is a lush intermingling of fudge, toasted coconut and graham. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is overly alcoholic and red-hot, accompanied by a trace of toasted coconut. Lingering ethanol heat and malt-driven roastiness in the finish. Thin and disappointing this year. Bottle courtesy of richiesd!

Pearl pink waxed bottle - Pitch black pour with little head or retention. Nose is similar to most eclipse variants with maybe a little more char. Taste follows the typical nose with roast, booze, coffee, and burnt wood. Very little sweetness and overall not my favorite treatment but still doesnít suck.

Pink waxed. Dense black pour with tan head. Oaky bourbon in the nose, tastes dark malty, oaky, bourbony, with cacao, molasses, dense and complex finish.

Bottle, pink wax. Dark brown, near black, with a tan head. Roast, chocolate, bourbon, notes of oak, light coffee, notes of dark fruit, and some vanilla. Nice barrel aged imp stout, but rather standard, maybe even a bit thin.

From a shared 22 ounce bottle. Boozy sticky stout with vanilla and bourbon. Very balanced.
