(Pink wax) Bottle... Pours dark brown (nearly black) with no head. The nose is a lush intermingling of fudge, toasted coconut and graham. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is overly alcoholic and red-hot, accompanied by a trace of toasted coconut. Lingering ethanol heat and malt-driven roastiness in the finish. Thin and disappointing this year. Bottle courtesy of richiesd!

Pearl pink waxed bottle - Pitch black pour with little head or retention. Nose is similar to most eclipse variants with maybe a little more char. Taste follows the typical nose with roast, booze, coffee, and burnt wood. Very little sweetness and overall not my favorite treatment but still doesn’t suck.

Pink waxed. Dense black pour with tan head. Oaky bourbon in the nose, tastes dark malty, oaky, bourbony, with cacao, molasses, dense and complex finish.

Bottle, pink wax. Dark brown, near black, with a tan head. Roast, chocolate, bourbon, notes of oak, light coffee, notes of dark fruit, and some vanilla. Nice barrel aged imp stout, but rather standard, maybe even a bit thin.

From a shared 22 ounce bottle. Boozy sticky stout with vanilla and bourbon. Very balanced.

Sampled at the Saturday afternoon session of GABF 2014 (thanks to Alicia at FiftyFifty for quickly clearing up for me which version of Eclipse was poured). Dark brown, nearly black, pour. Incredible aroma of bourbon, roasted coffee, and oak. Taste is of German chocolate cake, vanilla, and booze. Warm finish. A great beer!

Bote shared by Hopscotch. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Chocolate and mellow bourbon aromas. Sweet chocolates, sweet caramel, and big dark roasted malts. Molasses, oak, and cheap bourbon backbeats. Is this really Pappy? Good body and mouthfeel

bottle - pours black with a brown hue. Light hint of oak and bourbon. The taste is roasted chocolate, honey, and bitterness. This is soso and pretty disappointing for a BA stout.

Bottle shared at Stevo’s Pre-GABF Tasting (Denver, CO). Pours a deep blackish hue, dark and opaque with some brownish glow on the edges, frothy brownish head atop stays as a decent layer, good ringer laces well enough. A gentle brownish glow through the body. Aromas are a bit bitter, some firmer hops, decent oak, spirit. Gentle vanilla, some roastiness and cocoa. Initial shows gentle spirit starts with some vanillin, warmth. Some firmer bitterness, nice oak, gentle roast. Middle isn’t sweet, a bit thin with warmer spirit and oak as we move on. Decent spirit, oak, and toffee. A bit thin, sweet, bitter and hot. Overall, the barrel expression is a bit warm and tannic but the complexity from a more "Premium" barrel seems a bit lost here. Finish is a bit dry, toasty, carmelized and warm. Solid entry but I’m a bit surprised as this particular entry isn’t really a standout for me as far as character.

At Stephen’s 2nd annual Great American Beer Festival Tasting on 10/1/14. Pours black with no head. Aroma is complex big roasted malt dark chocolate malt, smooth world class bourbon. Taste is delicious savory roasted malt, bourbon, awesomeness.
