Draft @ FiftyFifty. Pours a bright, clear orange-cola color; off-white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Dry, earthy bitterness and some sweet dried orange maltiness in the aroma; nicely hopped. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, generous earthy hop bitterness upfront; mild astringency, solidly bitter, with a light earthy / floral malt character underneath; solid pale ale. Medium finish: biscuity malts, earthy bitterness, and a very light malt sweetness; ends dry and bitter overall.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear, bright copper color. Piney hop aroma. The flavor has a nice caramel malt sweetness with flavorful hops and modest bitterness. The hops are pretty piney, as seems to be the case with all of their hoppy beers, but it is restrained and balanced well here. Light bodied and quite drinkable. They found a good balance in this one, and I would take it over the IPA.

Tap at the brewery. Copper color in the glass with a thick white head and excellent lacing. Caramel nose and taste. Hops help balance but malt sweetness stays with me.
