Bottle @ GBBF 2013. The pour’s brown with a tiny off-white head. The nose is really earthy. Toasted brown bread. Loads of charred wood. Cocoa and vanilla. Sticky, hot flavors. More vanilla, rocky road fudge. Big profile. Fat and oily. Overall, really pleasant.

Bottle shared at GBBF 2013. Thanks, gents! Pours black-brown with a frothy beige head. Moderate roast in the aroma with notes of burnt marshmallows and chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with dry chocolate, soft roast, earth, milk chocolate. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with mellow dark fruits and more milk chocolate. Good stuff.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2014 Bottle bought. This is the one that didnt blow up. Huge light brown head. Deep dark black color. Nose is full of dark chocolate. Taste is slightly tart. Astringent. Lots of alcohol burn and a slight acidity lasts. Not happy. 5/3/5/2/7 on 7/15/14, Draft at brewery. Deep rich decadent dark chocolate in the nose. Taste is pure bitter chocolate and coffee. Not astringent but definitely drying, with a smooth alcohol note.

Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and smooth. Just a little fine carbonation. It’s a light touch with the dark malts. A little roast and cream. Whispers of dark fruits and coffee. Light semi dry finish. Quite a light and simple Imperial Stout.
