3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 AgentSteve (1609) - SF Bay Area, USA - DEC 4, 2008
This one matched the name. A bit all over the place, but not horrible. I imagine with some age it might be o.k. Seemed higher in alcohol. Maybe a 10 percenter. That being said, dried fruits and smokey, with chocolate and coffee in there as well. Medium mouthfeel.

FoBAB 2008. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was khaki with an orange tint. Smelled of bourbon, vanilla, butter, brown sugar, graham, and toffee. Medium bodied and boozy with what seemed like a lot of raw alcohol despite the billed 7% ABV. Cough syrup, cotton candy, and subdued citrus flavors. Oh, and booze. A bit raw.

Draft @ Bistro BA Fest. Pours a slightly oily, honey-brown color; some viscosity; off-white head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Burnt sugar, brown sugar, and some toasty wooden notes in the aroma; slightly rough. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: heavy medicinal notes, rough-edged brown sugar, honey, and dried fruits; a very messy, rough but generous and filled-out barrel-aged beer; good core materials that would benefit greatly from significantly softened edges. Lengthy finish: burnt / charred wooden notes, toasty oak, and brown sugar; rough.
