On tap at Blue Palms (labeled at 11%). Pours with a very muddy and unappealing dull yellow body with minimal head (didn’t transport well?). Looks like a mimosa. Aromas are very yeasty, grassy, apple, grainy, mild phenol and florals. Some alcohol. Flavors are grassy, yeasty, grainy. Medium esters, orange marmalade and a bit of 4VG. Low carbonation with some alcohol. A bit oily on the palate.

Draft at Fifty Fifty. Slightly hazy medium dark gold pour with a white head. Grainy bread, very yeasty, banana, grass, booze, and quite sweet. I don’t like it much.

Bottle courtesy photomike. Pours clear gold with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma is a little cheesy, along with notes of banana pith, cloves, and peppery alcohol. Pear/apple/banana fruitiness comes through in the flavor but not very strongly. Accents of bubblegum and spices. Boozy. Dry finish. Not enough depth in flavor to justify the alcohol here.

Growler from the brewpub... golden with minimal white head. Nose was malt and yeast with a bit of pepper. Tasted hot, peppery with a smooth dry buttery finish. Maybe a little boozy.

Growler fro the brewpub. This beer seems to have changed from when they started brewing it. The alcohol is higher--11% now, and it is dryer than earlier reviews indicate. Opague orange in color with a lasting frothy white head. Orange, clove, and peppery alcohol aroma. The flavor is dry wit peppery alcohol, herbal hop flavor, light doughy malt, bubble gum, and some banana pith. Finished quite dry. A dry, spicy, and alcoholic tripel. Good elements for the most part, but I think this would be better if it was a couple points down in alcohol. The heat just gets too in the way of drinkability.

GABF 2008. Bright orange golden pour with a thin head. Okay nose of honey, grains and clove/coriander...flavor is similar but with some banana as well. Eh.
