Draught at the brewery. Nice deep gold hue. Pretty big dank and piney hop aroma. The flavor gets more on the sweet side with a milder bitterness. Too "balanced" for my tastes. Up the bitterness and blend some more fruity hops into the aroma and I can see this being right up my alley.

Tap. Darker golden caramel pour with a white head. Aroma is light bitter hops followed by some pine and a heavy, semi-sweet malt backbone. Taste is minimal hop bitterness with an off-flavor through the middle and sweet malt through the finish. Light mouthfeel. Below average IPA.

Brought back from the source by my brother, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a crystal clear deep copper color with a stingy white head that dissipates quickly but does manage to leave some lace. The nose is filled with wonderful aromas of citrus and pine. Tangerine, grapefruit and resin boldly topping a base of caramel and brown sugar. The taste hits with a bit of bitter pine resin initially but the sweet sugary malt brings everything back into balance quickly. Long lingering grapefruit and apricot in the finish. Medium body with a sweet resinous mouthfeel and a moderate level of carbonation. Nice, simple, easy drinking IPA. I didn’t expect this to be so good from a brewery I’d never heard of, I probably should have shared this with Todd. ;)

On draft at Zodo’s Taphouse in Goleta CA. Clear mediun amber, small white head, spotty lacing. Toasty malt aroma, with ample floral, citrus and piney hops, this is best part of it. Flavor again is toasty malts, dominated by somewhat earthy and slightly metallic hops, that are herby and piney. Medium body, assertive carbonation. Overall a pretty good west coast style IPA.

Had a 22 oz bomber from Whole Foods. Tried this one from Figueroa Mountain Brewing after trying some of their others on the shelf. Very clean appearance light orange hue. Crisp floral on the front end, smooth hop middle and citrusy grapefruit finish. Not too over the top on the hop as most West Coast IPAs are but overall a solid beer. Will grab a few more of these next time at whole foods.

On tap at the Rodeo in Paso Robles. Pours a golden orange with a medium head. Aroma is slight peach skin and some hop dankness. Taste is sweet with very little bitterness but enough to make the malt backbone not overpower. Overall, a descent beer but nothing that is outstanding.

From a bomber bought at Whole Foods; nice piney citrus nose, perfectly clear. Taste is very balanced and intensely quaffable at 6.5%. If this was in 6 packs I’d love it more.

This is a local favorite of mine for the vibrant flavor and hoppy smell / taste it provides. Honestly I just leave mine alone for a minute and enjoy the smell that wafts from the glass. Then I devour it to the last drop and get another one.
