3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Herbs and pines on the nose. Crimson/copper in color with a thin foam rim. Pleasant pine, herb and hops taste with a nice caramel/biscuit malt base. Fairly bitter with strong hops and alcohol on the finish. Overall, pretty well balanced with a noticable hop bitterness.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a copper red with an antique white head. Head retention was noted to be excellent. Tangy grapefruit nose. Nice mouthfeel. Wonderful, complex DIPA. Malty up front, yielding to a rush of grapefruit, and finishes with a pine bitterness that lingers on the palate. Figueroa Mountain knocks it out of the park again!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bomber purchased in Santa Barbara. A very fresh tasting DIPA, very heavy on the hops, which give the beer a spicy, moderate-high oily hop palate. Lingering Bitter Aftertaste. This is a fairly clean tasting DIPA, and not a muddy or alcohol-tasting as some I do not see a sell by date on this bottle, but it tastes very fresh. I would have this again,

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Type: 22-oz. bottle
Glass: Firestone pint glass
From: Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, Calif., on Dec. 27, 2012
Poured a caramel amber color with two fingers of off-white head. Below average lacing, average-to-below average retention.
Smelled a lot like their Hoppy Poppy IPA I had a few weeks ago. Got sweet floral hops up front, followed by caramel and toffee malts. Even a little bit of bubble gum in the nose. Worked nice together. Had me looking forward to the taste.
Tasted initially reminded me of Manzanita’s Chaotic, but not as strong. Still got the floral hops. Also Columbus hops coming through. Bitter finish, but not overwhelming.
Medium-to-light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Long bitter finish.
A bit disappointed overall after having a few of their other beers (notably their IPA and brown ale.). Would probably give it another try, since I’m a sucker for DIPA’s, but still.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
650ml bomber from bev4less. Pours a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that has good retention and ample lacing. The aroma is mostly grapefruit with a touch of pine and some floral. The taste is citrus hops forward with grapefruit, oranges, melons and limes. Backing up the citrus is a caramel malt backbone and some piney resins. The palate is silky smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long and dry with some melons in the aftertaste. Overall: Very, very bitter, they need to dial it down just a notch to make this a top flight brew. That aside, its good stuff.
