COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hurricane Deck IPA is an aggressive IPA designed with hopheads in mind. We blend four hops, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook and Cascade, to recreate the ruggedness and intensity of the Trail. The higher alcohol content and skillful use of specialty malts emphasize the clean, crisp hop character.

Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Go Fred! Pours clear copper with a creamy off-white head. Lots of hop. Resin, floral, citrus. Med body. Flavor is very hoppy. Citrus, resin and I think floral. It’s bitter as all get out. Oh, there’s some light roast caramel backbone. But if you don’t look for it, it may not stand up. This finishes NW dry and bitter, but not quite so harsh as many. Extremely nice!

Amber/orange in color with a white head. Starts off with some sweet malt and caramel. There’s a bit of sweet fruit and the hop profile is citrus peel, floral, earthy. Light bitterness on the flavor with plenty of sweet toffee and caramel. A bit of fruit, citrus, pine, and earth. Not a bad beer, but a terribly good double IPA.

On Tap at KnB Del Cerro (my home court!). First rating ever, so don’t believe a thing you read. I expect (and WANT) more pine or citrus floral aroma from a Double. After taste bitter actually good. Great lace from the head. That’s it for #1.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with off white head. Nose and taste of resin, caramel malt, plum, dank citrus and light line. Light to Medium body. Woody pine finish. Lots of malt- a bit sappy.

22oz bomber pours clear copper with thin gold edges and a white head of foam and leaving behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up tropical mango fruitiness mixing with orange citrus hard candy and maybe a thin floral hop note around the edges. The taste is solid with rich hops coming from mango and grapefruit and malt sweetened lime. I get a pleasing mix of hop flavor and hop bitterness to midway. Into the finish the malt sweetened citrus note fades leaving tasty grapefruit like hop bitterness. This isn’t a style pushing offering but darn good.

Nice bright lemon zest, grapefruit, and citrus rind aroma rises above a 14 karat liquid with a moderate eggshell head. Nose is much more assertive than the flavor. More subdued orange peel, evergreen, and candied tangerine along with a touch of honey. Invisible alcohol except for its warming effect. Pretty good.

Bottle from Keg N Bottle #2: Appeared as a dense golden honey hue with a decent development of frothy head on top. Aroma has obvious scents of green hop pellets but has a heavy presence of bready malts and a funky yeast strain that throws me off considering this was an Imperial IPA. The taste is putrid and unbalanced between bread like malts with the addition of hop pellets all while the alcohol heats up the palate. Might have actually tasted good if was on tap instead of bottled.

On tap at UnionAle, Santa Barbara CA. Light amber almost see-through. White head disappeared quickly. Strong sweet grapefruit scent, awesome. Tangy citrus grapefruit flavor. Hops are super juicy, not terribly bitter but very very good. Medium body, high carbonation. Finish is toasty nut flavor and more pine-hop bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity malty piney hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter piney flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy piney bitter finish.
