Hurricane Deck IPA is an aggressive IPA designed with hopheads in mind. We blend four hops, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook and Cascade, to recreate the ruggedness and intensity of the Trail. The higher alcohol content and skillful use of specialty malts emphasize the clean, crisp hop character.

>> Deep amber pour, good lace. Nose is dark orange, celery, tomato. Taste is celery, heavier/dense body, mild alcohol, dark orange. Probably my least favorite of their core brands.

Bottle. I got a slight eruption on this, but it settled quickly. However, I dod get a little funk on the palate here, musty and dirty like a grandmother’s attic. The chewy woodiness underneath takes second seat. (#5943, 3/20/2015)

22oz bottle shared over lunch at the taco shack on the Ventura Pier. Nice setting for a beer and taco, for sure! Clear amber pour. Hoppy, solid malty backbone. Nice citrus and a hint of pine.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of slight biscuit into big grass, floral, and piney hops, slight orange but pretty light on citrus, hints of yeast. Taste is a mix of yeast, spice, grass and pine into some floral notes, touch of biscuit, finishing fairly bitter, slightly dry.

Draft. Aroma of pine and tangerine. Soapy lace. Flavors of citrus, walnuts and some faint toffee on the finish. Nicely balanced. Probably better than it scores, esp because it’s barely a DIPA.

Bottle sample at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear deep golden with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma, rather "green" and dank, citric and a bit piney with a bit of malt. Flavor has moderately sweet malt, a bit chewy, with piney, citric and "green" hops and nice bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Fad: Taster på bryggeriet. Ravfarvet klar med et fint skumhoved. Duften er den samme som Hoppy Poppy. Smagen er bedre mere frisk og med lidt mere fylde og pondus. Frisk og god bitterhed.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2014 Draft at Duckys Cayucos. Nose is citrus and piney resin. Clear darker orange with a medium lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is moderately bitter with a bit of resin and citrus. 6/26/2014 3.5 Draft at Duckys again. Maybe a fresher keg with more prominent citrus and pine. Nice malty caramel backbone.

Keg at Figueroa Mountain BP in Santa Barbara, 01/05/14. Clear golden amber with a moderate light beige covering. Nose is bitter grapefruit, orange pith, light pine cone, toasty maltings, tangerine. Taste comprises orange pith, floral hop tones, grassy, light grapefruit, faint pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonationa, semi drying close with subtle hop bitterness. Easy drinking DIPA, not at all boozey, prefer mine with a little more punch in the hoppage.
