4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 JohnC (2910) - Mission Viejo, USA - JUL 1, 2011
i had this on tap at figueroa mountain brewing and it’s a nicely done American Pale Ale. They characterize it as a session beer due to the 4.5% ABV, but at any rate, it’s hoppy up front with a clean finish and nicely crafted

Tap @ Fig Mtn. Clear gold pour with a persistent, short white head leaving moderate lace. Nose is biscuit and a hint of pine hops. Medium body and carbonation. Toast, almonds, pine hops and some tea. Finish is shortish and fairly balanced. Outdone by some of the more aromatic APAs, but solid.

This is the perfect beer to have on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. It’s light, smooth, and not too filling.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a clear orange hued body with a minimal white head that has poor retention. Aromas are citrusy, straw, bready. Hoppy: floral, tea, passion fruit, orange and other citrus. Flavors are citrusy, medium bitter, a bit tea like. Bready malt profile. Medium bodied, lively bubbles, dry finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - JUN 26, 2011
Draught at the brewery. Clear dark gold with a sticky white head. Fruity hop aroma with a dry pale malt presence backing that up. Not huge on hops, but a nice mellow freshness about it. Mostly pale and malybe some higher kilned malt in the flavor. Bready and a big toasty without much sweetness or any caramel. Just enough grassy and fruity hop flavor to keep it all together nicely. Light bodied and pretty crisp and dry. Very similar to pale 31 but with a slightly cleaner fermentation profile and subsequent malt expression.
