Statgecoach Stout is an oatmeal stout, as dark as Santa Ynez at midnight with hints of chocoate, espresso and smoke. It is afull-bodied, intensley-rich ale with a velvety smooth finish.

Black color with small tan head. Aroma and taste is cocoa, some coffee, chalk, very dry. Low carbonation. Got that silky Oatmeal mouthfeel. Quite one-dimensional but good to drink.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of roast, coffee, lactose, some cocoa powder into a slight dark fruit note, hints of spice. Taste is roast, coffee, chocolate into some earthy notes, touch of dark fruit, finishing yeasty, slightly sweet.

Bomber. Dark brown pour, with a light tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, notes of smoke and char, and just a bit of soy sauce. Decent.

15th July 2014 and my Orange County coastal beer crawl sees me in Schooner, a bar in Sunset Beach where I had four beers, this being my last one before moving on. On-tap pint, loved it. Dark, probably black, the head a tanned affair. Not too sure about the oatmeal but there was plenty of rich maltiness within the nose and taste, chocolate and coffee flavours abounded in my mouth with a very faint hint of peat smokiness to add an extra dimension. Best beer of the day by a long way.

Bomber. Pours black with a brown head and aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is burnt and smokey, of roasted malt, chocolate, oatmeal, and coffee with a roasty finish. Very drinkable stout

Pours a dark black pour with a large java colored head. Nose is deep malt, coffee and chocolate.Taste is malty, somewhat sweet, with black licorice notes. On the light side, ends on the same tasting notes with a short dry finish. quaff score 7 / 10

A California stout that has more hop profile and less noticeable oatmeal. I really enjoyed this refreshing stout and although it was thinner then expected it was very easy to drink without being overly sweat. Hints of smoke flavor and coffee lingered on the palate after each swallow.

Keg at the SB brewpub 01/05/14. Black with a moderate tan swirl and edgework that stays for the show. Nose is roast malt, oaty tones, light minerals, cocoa nibs, dark toffee. Taste comprises roast malt, chocolate infused porridge, liquorice, hint of coffee, cocoa powder, mineral pangs. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid stout.

22oz bomber. Appetizing slushy sandy, brown head and lacing over mahogany body. Head dissolves fairly shortly. Aroma of banana and roast coffee. Taste as above with umami, a little chickory and cough drop and some woody. Not sweet. Very good. Body is medium full with some sticky creaminess and a long, mild bitter finish. Overall, this is a class crafting to seek.
