4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hunter112 (26) - Nanuet, USA - JUN 18, 2011
This is a wheat beer? It’s like no other wheat beer I’ve ever had. A color only slightly darker than lemonade, and clear, must be filtered. Delicious floral nose, hinting at the hops to come in the taste. And they deliver fully!
This is the most aggressively hopped wheat beer I’ve ever had, and it satisfies the Pacific Northwest hophead in me. Glad I picked this up when I went through Hobart last month,.

Draft sample. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.

Bottle. Wheat malt, pineapple, bread aroma. Hazy pale gold, with a moderate thick head. Predominantly piney resinous hops, a little wheat makes it through. Could use a little more malt balance, but I’d drink it on a hot day.

Tap at Back Road Fall Fest: Clean golden hue with a lasting frothy head, good lace. The aroma has notes of grapefruit, pine, resin, wheat, biscuit and some dusty yeast esters. The taste follows suit, a bit hoppier than most American Wheat but not in your face, wheaty, husky and grainy malt bill. Light and refreshing which I believe is the point of this brew. A quaffable brew.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hoosiers1994 (667) - Maryland, USA - SEP 3, 2011
Bomber poured into a pint glass. Pours pale gold with minimal white head. Aromas are skunk, floral, and grass. Taste is bitter hops over pale maltiness. Lingering bitternes in the long finish is surprising for a wheat ale. Body is light, but this is very flavorful and bitter for a wheat. Overall, not bad.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 iugrad93 (236) - Indiana, USA - AUG 14, 2011
Pours a pale golden color, fairly cloudy with white head with nice lacing. Aromas of floral, spruces, some citrus. Taste has a light refreshing sweetness blended well with the bitterness on the back end. Nice carbonation, smooth/ Overall, I am pleasantly surprised. More flavorful than I expected and a really good blend of hops and spices. Well done.

As this wheat ale is brewed with Amarillo hops, it begs comparison to another locally brewed wheat ale that is hopped with the same variety, Three Floyds Gumballhead. The aroma is nowhere near as citric and bubblegummy, nor do the hops overwhelm the finish. What this ale does have that Gumballhead does not is balance.

Light pour with a white head. Light and refreshing with a nice citrus flavor. Great for a hot summer day.
