Fiji tick! Whoop whoop! Thanks to my boy Phil for bringing this back for me. Always fun to tick booty beer from foreign lands. Really, it wasn’t that horrible. Drank it by the pool and enjoyed it.

Surprised by this beer. Cool bottle, imprinted with "this bottle always remains the property of Carlton" or something like that. I was expecting a British bitter but yes, it is a pale lager. Yellow pour, small white head. Musty, paper mulch nose, a light metallic edge to the flavor, and a big fizz in the mouth. Not very good. Bottle brought back from Fiji by a friend.

Breaking up my intense reviews of huge-alcohol barley wines, I’ve got this weird import pale lager found somehow in Edmonton. Comes in a stubby bottle. Pours with a clea golden body with minimal carbonation and can get decent head if coaxed the proper way. Aroma is tin and stale cardboard like a million other nameless pale lagers the world over. Flavour is heavy breadiness, a solid boring lager flavour with a dry finish. It knows what it is at least, and it isn’t especially good. But it could be worse, which is about the best you can say for it.

Bottle to stange glass Skunk, banana, bread, pepper, and pils malt. Bright clear, amber tinged yellow with a puffy, thick, long lasting bright white head with a little lacing. Taste is bready, and skunky with some sweet fruitiness. To be honest a little too sweet and only broken by the funkiness which isn’t an improvement in taste. I guess it isn’t bland.

Country tick from a work friend who went on vacation. Woo -woo! A: Big carbonation, yellow color with a large fluffy head. N: Grainy with some pilsener malt. Grass, toffee, biscuit. A touch of flowers. T: Biscuity bread with a pale malt sweetness. Some off tastes, but nothing deep. M: Light and watery. Well-carbed. O: Inoffensive. Looks to me like the canning helped keep this from getting skunked, and it actually surprised me how well it does as a boring beach beer rather than something horrific.

Gold, lasting white head leaves good lace.Vague skunky nose. More of same in palate, skunky and dirty. Poor effort

I poured mine from a bottle, straight down the middle of the glass. Nice pillowy head. It didn’t stay long. The flavour is grassy, biscuity and maybe some skunk. Wasn’t very bitter. Kinda boring. One for the list and that’s about all.

The aroma has some unpleasant notes, quite metallic, the flavor at the begin has the malt flavors, but at the end the expected bitterness for a bitter.

375 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with moderate head of big bubbles. Aromas of grass, corn syrup, and malts. Flavors of cereal and malts up front and it’s a bit paper , but there is a lingering burnt hair aftertaste. Yuck.

Pours a pale gold with a small white head that leaves no lace. Aroma is grassy and grainy with some citrus. Taste is toasty, yeasty, grassy and just unbalanced. Better than most in the style but s not very good.
