Many cans over the course of my vacation in Fiji. Pours fizzy gold with a white head. Grain, hay, mild metallic notes, and faint saaz hops notes. Good enough to beat the heat.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Stubby. Orange gold with a white head that lasts OK. Grainy aroma with weeds. Watery. Slightly sweet, grainy, husky, dry and weedy at the slightly bitter end. Watered down Melbourne Bitter with slightly more prominent bitterness. There’s a bit of this about in Melbourne and it has date stamps and everything, so maybe seeing this in better nick than some other things. It’s OK.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Love it already. Stumpy and stout bottle voids unnecessary capsizing and breakages; the labels archaic and reminiscent of some of Australia’s most infamous lagers, and the term bitter leads me to believe there may be a little Aussie Pride in there too. So, without further ado, into a tulip it goes. Big gust of CO2 emanates forth as the cap comes off. Aroma is softly metallic and briny but very much dominated by notes of grass and chaff. It settles as one hell of a sexy beast. A radiant deep gold with minute and intermittent carbonation. Head wanes slowly but retains as a rocky white pad that daubs the glass well. Unexpectedly malty and sweet on the palate. Body is medium light with moderate carbonation. Chilled it is clean and crisp in the finish but cracks start to show as it warms. Becomes gammy and sweet with an astringency that is hard to deny. Chilled though it is, well, the beer I expected it to be. Low bitterness with just a hint of peppery spice and fresh mown grass. Not much here but it minces with the best of the lawn-mower beers. Ok! (37,5cL, BB 01/07/15, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

Drank from bottle, it is slightly sweet. Slightly wheaty grainy aroma taste is similar to the smell. Mediocre.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Poured a clear golden amber colour with 5mm of white foam that retained OK and laced OK. Carbonation high and medium. Aroma typical; lager - malt and grain; no obvious hops. Taste initially sweet malt then has a distinct tangy possibly chemical bitterness. Light body. Crisp, light refreshing (if cold) with a bit of a tangy bitterness lingering on the finish. Best drank cold.

Clear gold pour with a thin white head. Malty aroma, a little bit of metal. Taste is malt, corn, not really mych in the way of bitterness. Fairly typical bland lager, not great but not the worst
