1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Golden pour with a white head. Everything is similar to Fiji Bitter, but weaker/watered down. Closer to a standard mass produced pale lager.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle, enjoyed in Fiji. This is a weird little beer, marketed as less filling, lower calories but still full strength and full flavoured. Sounds like an ad for Miller Lite from the 1980’s. Anyway, this beer has less bitter hop character and less sweet cereal malt flavour than both Fiji Bitters (export and regular). Very boring, and closer to a mainstream North American macro lager than the other Fijian lagers.

Pretty round bad beer and not very different to Fiji Bitter. Do not know about the not so filling label. Anyway, orange colour, low carbonation, corn and sweet.

1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
A friend brought this back from Fiji for me. Taste was decent, tropical and refreshing- if you close your eyes. It’s all in the mind with this one. Dark golden/orange colour with a large head. Taste is pretty malty.

Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Somewhat ditter with malty aromas. A bit of grassy hoppyness. Not good - Give me a drink with fruits and an umbrella.

Another macro beer. It is passible as somthing to get drunk on. Similar in flavor to an old Budweiser.

garbage...as bad as the bitter and maybe worse than vanuatu’s tusker...kava tastes like mud but at least it does not give you gas. this is on my dirt list...it could be the dirtiest.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2006 Tasted 05/06/2006. 355ml can from New World Island Bay, thanks Brendon! Extremely pale yellow, reasonable lasting white head. Ciderish sugary aroma. Thin, medium-dry, short, no bitterness. Need I say more? Okay, I will. I didn’t get close to finishing it and it comes in one of the worst cans I’ve ever seen. Here’s to Todd, who first introduced me to this ghastly drink.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Very pale yellow colour, white head. Adjunct-loaded aroma, corn, faint straw. Thin and watery body with a sweetish finish. This is not good, but after four hours of delayed flights, this is working for me.

Oh great, thanks to a colleague who has just returned from there I get to review another fine example of a pale lager from this part of the world. This is why the locals drink kava. It is not as bad as the flagship Fiji Bitter though. Wow is that saying a lot!
