16 oz can Pours to a deep red-brown body with a tan head. Aroma of rye bread and light earthy hops and fennel. Flavor is very malty with lots of rye bread and some unique hops. Almost like a earthy spice mix with fennel, thyme, and rosemary. Palate is medium bodied.

Pours a hazy caramel color with a thin off white head. Aroma has earthy/piney notes and sweet maltiness. Flavor is caramely sweet with tea and earthy/piney notes. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is resinous and piney.

22 ounce bottle pours a redish amber color with aromas of malt, light citrus, some caramel, and some earth. Flavors are the same with a decent malty-alcoholy finish.

A little band Ali and fusel alcohol syrupy bit. Clear orange color with no head and decent lacing. Fruity aroma and caramel sweet flavor. Not my fave. A syrupy barley wine.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy ruby red color with a nice 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, floral, and light rye spiciness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity; quite malt forward. Taste of caramel, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, floral, light pine, and light rye spiciness. Light pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, citrus, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, floral, light pine, and light rye spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; malt forward with solid hop flavor balance; with minimal cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice imperial red ale. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop notes; and quite smooth to sip on. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Bronze, thin beige head. Smells pretty good - caramel, some vague Christmasy spices, and some piney, woodsy hops. Taste is surprisingly dry, with the woody, piney hops being up front and the a nice molasses flavor in the background. Dry finish, which is probably the reason it seems lower than 8%.

16oz can, from The Party Source. Hazy darker red / orange color. Good 1 finger thick khaki head. Leaves good lace. Bigger body, light smooth carbonation, kind of creamy texture. Nice tropical fruit nose, like fruit punch, sort of. Spicy hop flavor, good malt profile, light chocolaste, little maltiness, but the big spicy tropical fruity hop is prominent. Could pass as one of those "Red IPAs", but of course it also fits under the catch-all "american strong ale" too. Mostly bitter taste. Light bit of sweet. Light spicy bite keeps things interesting. Very tasty, interesting, drinkable unique ale

More of a red ipa. Pour a rusty red color, thin white lacing with good retention. Smell is malty and a bit boozy, but doesn’t have a boozy flavor. Flavor is malty biscuity with a good bitterness. Good carbonation but not over the too. Poured on draft.

This pours a murky reddish brown color with a dark beige head. The aroma is heavy with malts giving a sweet grain scent. The taste is very strong with sweet malts and rye in the beginning and as you finish, it grows into a slightly bitter after taste. I’m sure there are people that will like this beer, but it’s not quite I am looking for in an American Strong Ale.
