COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

This is not really hitting the spot for me IPA-wise. It is a nice amber color w/ a decent head but appearance is the only aspect they really got right. The aroma is subdued w/ primarily dark, piny and herbal notes. Flavor is just dominated by an aggressive earthy bitterness which is balanced by a sticky sweetness but lends to a beer that neither has a compelling flavor nor is particularly drinkable. Finchís does better and there are way better IPAís locally. This four pack is the last I will probably buy.

22oz bottle pours a hazy golden/amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, grain, citrus, pine, and tropical. Taste of resinous pine balanced pretty well with nice malt and grain. Pretty Nice!

Sample at Binnyís Downers Grove 4/4/12-Pours an amber body with a small head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of the same with a bit more malt. This medium to full bodied brew is pretty well balanced and goes down easy.

My favorite finchís by far. Pours a clear light amber with a solid off white head. Aroma s interesting, very shallow yet strong. That doesnít make a lot of sense but really smell it. Flavor is quite a hoppy mouthful. Strong hops. Bitter, too. Not too shabby, finch.

On tap at Tokyo Pub. Pours cloudy orangish copper with off white head. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, floral hops, and some malt. Flavors of light tropical fruit, and citrus hops, but is really dominated by malt base. Really lacking hop profile. Something seemed off and did not seem fresh.

On tap at the Beer Bistro. Cloudy copper color with a white head. Grapefruity hop aromas. Grapefruit and tropical fruit hops nicely offset by the caramel malt backbone. A nice IPA...

I had this on tap at the Blind Robin in Chicago, IL after going to the 3 Floyds Brewpub with some good friends. I didnít like this at all. It was too sweet, especially in the caramel malt department, and the only reason why I ordered this was because it was the only beer I havenít rated at the bar and I wanted to try it. I canít say Iím a fan of the clothing company, and Iím really not a fan of this beer. Threadless, I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

On tap at the (and Iím ashamed to admit I was there- work function) Dave Mathews Band Caravan thing. 7-15ish-11 on tap. Poured a pure gold with a thin white head. A middle of the road IPA with a very simple hop profile. In the 100 degree heat a good IPA should have come across thicker and almost over bearing. This was a much better than the BMC swill those around me were drinking, but after 1 I switched to a little sumpin sumpin. Just sayin.
