COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

Poured from a can. Nice hoppy aroma, but there is some maltiness as well. The taste is a strong bitterness, but again, you can tastes solid male presence as well...pretty solid, but not spectacular

Finch’s Threadless IPA has a medium, creamy, off-white head, an opaque, gold-orange appearance, some noticeable, clinging bubbles, and lacing, top to bottom. Aroma is of flowers, nectar, hop oil, and white bread. Flavor is of sweet, white bread, not so bitter hop bitterness, sugar, and pine oil. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Finch’s Threadless IPA finishes on the dry side and quite drinkable. RJT

Rated on 01-04-2013 (Can) This beer pours a medium sized smooth off-white head that mostly diminishes, mostly transparent/slightly hazy golden body, slow rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is citrus, earthy hops, fruity, and malt. The flavor is bitter, citrus, earthy hops and malt. The mouthfeel is semi-thick and this beer is medium bodied. This beer has a lingering hoppy aftertaste and is a hop head beer. It is worth trying.

A huge meringue head. A cloudy orange. This is a nice IPA. Plenty of hops in the body. And a strong bitter dry finish. Great stuff.

can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber with a bubbly ivory head, streaks of lace. Taste is malt with a dash of caramel that grows into the palate adding solid citrus hops on the swallow, then moving back toward the malt as the finish fades. A polite but solid IPA.

Can@ trailer. Clear amber color with ivory head. Nice pine, citrusy, sweet malt aromas. Medium bodied with average co2. Hoppy bitter pine, citrusy, spicy flavors with some lightly sweet pale maltage____drying spicy bitter finish----good.

A cloudy orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is piney and tropical fruit. The flavor is floral and fruity with a solid maltiness.

Pint can. Nose lightly sweet and citrus, a little dank, and big on pine. Pours orange with a rocky cream head. Taste strongly bitter with strong dough and spice, seemingly a rye-like flavor component, light alcohol and warmth, big caramel and pine. There is citrus, yes, but bigger floral character, and mildly forrestal. Lightly soapy and cleansing, light-medium resin, touch scorched/burned character and some deeper malt development. Full body and very heavy, but boldly flavorful.

Transfer from BA review on 7-30-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a very hazy orange colored brew with a one finger fizzy white head. The head fades rather fast but leaves a very nice level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is rather light overall. It dose however have some aromas of a grapefruit and pine nature as well as a bit of a bready and a lightly yeasty smell. Taste – The taste begins with some bready and a light caramel and orange flavor mixed with a rather strong grapefruit and pine hop flavor. As the flavor advances the caramel, orange, and some of the bready flavors dwindle, with the grapefruit getting stronger. While the grapefruit gets stronger the pine remains constant, but the two are joined by a grassy flavor which ends up overpowering the pine. In the end, as the sweetness lessens and the grassy and grapefruit get stronger, a rather bitter and more dry flavor is left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. The medium body and carbonation are quite appropriate for the lighter bready and sweet flavors of the brew keeping it a rather drinkable even with its more bitter grassy and grapefruit flavors. Overall – A rather nice drier, grapefruity bitter, and slightly grassy brew.

Poured from a 16oz can. Aroma - almost a green apple / caramel smell. Appearace - slightly hazy golden pour with almost zero head. Taste - Citrus with a backbone of bitterness....not bad. Palate - Smooth - not too carbonated... Overall - not too bad. A little light on the body, but a decent beer.
