Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

Pours a darkish amber color with a small head. Big hoppy citrus nose with some caramel malt. Also getting some pine. Taste has a solid bitterness and a nice taste. Lots of orange citrus. Nice lasting finish that is refreshing. A really good ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a hazy bronzed orange color with a one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some messy lacing. The smell had a sharp sweet to bitter citrus blend coursing it’s way between bittersweet pine. A nice caramel malt backbone graces underneath. The taste was balanced between the sweet citrus and bitter pine and levels out to the malt backbone nicely. A nice balanced citrus sweetness to pine aftertaste leads to a semi-dry citrus finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a wonderful sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Bitterness seemed balanced as well to have a nice harshness against my tongue. Overall, this was a really nice fairly crushable AIPA that I would love to have again and possibly even just drink from the can on a hot Summer’s day.

Capones. Pours out a moderately hazy orange color with a small off white head. Aroma is of light citrus, dusty hay, light pine and some biscuity malt notes; body is a bit thin. Taste is of some white grapefruit bitterness, light pine, bready/toasty malts, and another punch of white grapfruit hop bitterness in the finish.

New to the state of Maine. Can pours a rich orange copper color with a two plus finger of sticky off white foam. Bright hop aromas of pineapple, light toasted malt and a touch of citrus. The palate follows the nose nicely with a nice creamy round mouthfeel. Soft fruit on the front to mid palate with touches of stonefruit and a grassy bitter finish...

Small, tight beaded tan head with fair retention and decent lacing. Grapefruit, catty nose, nice. Body is medium and a bit chewy with an almost prickly carbonation, lil resiny. Dry malts, lil toasty with some danky hoppyness, earthy, grapefruity and juicy. Dry finish, some fruit, melon and a nice assy bite. Can from statelineliquors.

From the pint can. The pour is a hazy golden amber with a lingering off-white head. The aroma is malty and buttery more than hoppy but the hops are more earthy than any other sensation. The body is medium but also rather astringent and oily. The taste has a kind of off-hoppiness with the buttery and pale malts.
