COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

16 oz can. Pours orange with a one finger white head. Minor lace. Aroma is orange zest & pine. Orange & pine is repeated in the flavor. Around the middle of the glass you pick up some biscuit flavor. Medium bodied with a soft easy to drink palate. New to New Hampshire & I’ll have to check out some of their other brews.

ContemplateBeer (1633) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 1, 2014
On tap at North End Cafe, Bardstown Rd. (Louisville). Aroma: Grapefruit and sweet malts are nearly balanced; there’s some pineapple notes to give a little more interest. Definitely more malty than some of the more recent IPAs. Appearance: Translucent light copper pour with a bubbly bone head. Flavor: Good amount of juicy pineapple up front with the grapefruit; the malts are really present and quite sweet; never really dries up the way a top tier IPA should. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: A solid beer, but a middling IPA at best. Surprised to see it ranked so highly.

Sampled at 2012 Indianapolis Brew Ha Ha. A really good IPA. Sweet malts is balanced and paired with the hops very well. Smooth with a little bite. Well put together.

A flawless ipa out of finches. Well balanced hops and bitterness. Light yellow in color and smelks malty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an hazy amber reddish color. Nose is citrus and pine, with a tangerine and peach nose predominating, quite pleasant nose. Taste is all citrus with very heavy bitterness at first than settles down quite delightfully. Finish is moderately long with some sweetness. Nice ! Quaff Score 8 / 10

22oz bottle pours a hazy golden/amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, grain, citrus, pine, and tropical. Taste of resinous pine balanced pretty well with nice malt and grain. Pretty Nice!

I had this on tap at the Blind Robin in Chicago, IL after going to the 3 Floyds Brewpub with some good friends. I didn’t like this at all. It was too sweet, especially in the caramel malt department, and the only reason why I ordered this was because it was the only beer I haven’t rated at the bar and I wanted to try it. I can’t say I’m a fan of the clothing company, and I’m really not a fan of this beer. Threadless, I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Can.
Appearance: Murky orange/amber body with no head.
Aroma: Grassy, slightly earthy, some orange.
Taste: Odd grassy/orange pith flavor with a grassy, herbal and sweet orange finish. Malts are noticed adding sweetness.
Palate: Medium bodied, mildly carbonated.
Overall: Not sure what to think of this. I can drink it, but I don’t enjoy it.

16oz can from Three Cellars. Pours a yellow-orange with some off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma is a muddled combination of citrus and caramel with some spiciness and floral hops. Taste has very bitter grapefruit rind, lemon, some resin and then carries through with some sweet caramel maltiness back. The distinctness of the very bitter "scrape off your teeth and palate" and then the caramel and sweet also, does not seem to blend well. Finishes very bitter, yet with sweet hints, and lasts a long bitter time. Perhaps this needs to age to mellow the sharpness of the bitter hops - not something I would have ever recommended in an IPA ...

Tap - average size fairly thick head, light copper color, nice citrus and earthy hop aroma and flavor, balanced well by breast malts ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
