Can 50 cl. Pours a clear golden, with a small head and a bad smell. The taste is very plain, with lots of hops present. The hops make the taste very dry and cardboardish, not very pleasant. Even for this small amount u can find better beers

A Mes rate: Bottle at Tom’s DP4ME tasting.
Tom, Ang and Duff went to get curry. I’d already had some so I stayed behind. Tom thrusts this in my hand, ICE cold from the fridge saying "there’s one you’ve not had." Thanks mate. Clean pilsener gold with a short lived white head. Pukey card and malt aroma. Flavourwise the hops are ok there’s just nothing like enough of them. Milky malt, very watery but possibly still just enough to kill a fish. Low quality pils, I’ve had worse but not many.

33cl can from Lidl - 4.0% ABV. Not expecting much from this at 39p a can - pale straw with a thick white head; vaguely herbal aroma; very watery with little flavour, but not unpleasant; then developing a good dry and bitter herbal finish.

clear golden colour with a big irregular and elusive white foam; some herbs and paperboard in the nose; almost medium-bodied, decent bitterness and a quite long herbal finish - acceptable

After seeing Scotty’s rating i couldnt help grab a cheaky 33cl can for 39p from lidl. Pours with enormous head, which takes some time to deminish but ends up with big bubbles stickin to the glass. Aroma started horrible however improved over time, german bittering hop and some pale malts in the nose if it was like this from the start it would have had more but metallic end cuts it a bit. Taste is actually quite wheaty, grainy malts, hot much hops but easy drinking enough, carbonation is actually quite smooth. Like i was expecting far worse.

Can from Lidl, abv is 4% rather than 4.8%. Thin and lacking in body and taste, pale straw in colour the head is large bubbled and soapy looking and fades away in less than a minute. Not that good...in fact pretty awful!

Can. Made for Lidl. Looks not so good in the glass, much fast disappearing foam. Too sourish and too dry, somehow lumpish. Not a good beer.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2007 new review: Didn’t realize until today I got the spoit can when I tried this one, as I was refusing to drink this one all that time. Well, this one was surely a different thing, with kind of artificial but passable aroma dominated by sweet malts. Sweetish bitterish flavor, quite empty again, but not offensive and quite refreshing on a hot day. No traces of metal, soap or anything similar. Still, objectively, very boring beer with almost no finish.

old review: 0.5 l can. Pale yellow body with big white frothy head. More or less watery texture although leaves laces on the glass. Not enough carbonation to look very well. Some sourish industrial nose. Maybe also a bit grainy? Flavor not SO bad as the aroma, but...I could hardly finish it. Bitter, empty, watery. Something gone wrong here. Bad finish, bitter..soapy. In the shop above the product says "German quality" HA-HA! Shit...I’ve been too generous hoping it could be worser! 1/2/3/1/4=1.1

0.5l can, Finkbräu Pilsener, 4.8%, brewed by Oettinger, bought at the local Lidl store (Split).
Poured a light golden colour with a medium sized white thick chem head that went away fast. Nose, grainy malt and some apple. Taste... dry papery malty taste with weak notes of apple. Very weak chewy and just a touch lemony hopiness that continues in the aftertaste. Way less offensive than its Schankbier brother but damn dull and simple. They aren’t even the cheapest beers around. Blah.
