3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a white wine like color, but slightly cloudy. Aroma is very light, of tart apples, maybe even a little lemon, and trace of funky. Flavor is quite dry and somewhat tart, without much complexity or interesting flavor notes. Finishes with a lingering tartness. I don’t detect hops in this at all, which is disappointing as it might have saved this from mediocrity. Not really one I’d go for again as it’s neither particularly unique or interesting.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Belmont Station. Hazed pale greenish yellow, still. Malic green Granny Smith apple and mineral / vitamin aroma. High acid, prickly and bitter finish with lingering syrupy sweetness late. Medium body, bitter, acidic, and tart with moderately heavy malic acid. Lingering off-putting grassy bitterness. Taste and texture of hops more than smell which is strange considering its dry-hopped and (I assume) doesn’t have any long boil hops.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours with a crystal clear pale yellow hue with a quick to fade fizzy white head. Aromas are of chlorophenols and brett. Burnt rubber, aspartame, some what citrusy and dank hop notes. Lots of chemical off aromas. Minerally, light sulfur. Flavors are dry and chalky with medium acidity. Less off than the aroma, but still not enjoyable for an $8.99 500ml. Some bitterness, pine, sulfur, citrus. Odd cider. Full carbonation, medium-low body, dry, somewhat artificial acidity, low tannin, but balanced by a hoppy bitterness.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Delicious pale color reminiscent of Belgian white ale. Complex nose combines cider and hoppiness of an IPA. A good amount of carbonation. Lemony, chamomile, ocean air among the expected dry apple flavor and hops announced on the label. This is NOT a jolly rancher candy cider. Its tastes are not for everyone. In sum: three most unique cider I’ve ever had. A new class. Great for those who enjoy light and dry and complex.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
This version is a lot worse than the barrel version. A super pale straw colored pour. Sour, funky, rubbery, artificial flavors. Wonder if this bottle was bad? Other reviews seem to show some bad flavors too. Hmmmm.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sitting on chair in a shadeless driveway on hot Arizona day after drinking several big stouts it was welcome sight for a cider to make an appearance. Pours light sparkling yellow. nose of apples and hops. tastes of crisp tart apples but not overwhelmingly so, you get some grass, lemon, and hops as well. crisp but a little paper tasting on finish

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500mL bottle, purchased at Whole Foods Petaluma. Pours a pale straw color with a slight amount of haze; still and headless. The aroma’s the best part of this: lightly tart apples, plenty of herbaceous grassiness, and notes of melon and tropical fruit along with the citrus; in this part, the dry-hopping meshes pretty seamlessly with the fruit underneath; digging this. It would be really interesting to serve this to a knowledgeable someone as white wine and hear their take on the outcome: like a hugely forward, lightly tart New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The presentation in the mouth, though, is a bit too acidic and closed: focused on the tart apple note and grassiness, with some modest bitterness; while the aroma is explosive, the taste itself seems tightly wound around that core acidic tartness; is it weird that I’m curious what would happen if I decanted this? Damn cool take overall, with a luscious melon and grassiness throughout. Medium-length finish shows (seemingly) some oak, tart apple notes, with grass and light toastiness; a balanced departure.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Whole Foods in Folsom. Pours perry color with a fizzy white head that didn’t last long. Aroma seems apple. Near med body. Flavor is apple with grassy/citrus hop. Not a lot, but enough to make a difference. Vive la différence! Cider should be hopped.
