Tap. Beige head, very murky mud puddle brown. Squashy, touch of citrus, grass and slight spice in the aroma. Almost a sour note in the flavor, but of gourd, minimal spiciness which is appreciated. Lighter thin body.

Pours a slightly hazy copper/amber with a white head. Smells of pumpkin pie spices with some earthy undertones. Tastes of pumpkin spices, peppery, some earthy, grassy elements on the finish. Nice subtlety to the spices that lend themselves well to the base beer and give a hint of underlying squash. Nicely done.

Drought. Amber-orange color, white foamy large head, pumpkin aroma, sweetish taste with pumpkin flavor, low carbonation, abrupt finish with bitterness at the end. Not bad for a seasonal but a bit sweet for my taste.

Rich amber and copper coloured body witha rich, thick, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pumpkin, squash, cinnamon, nutmeg, alcohol and a bit of anise - very nice and spicey. Medium-bodied; Strong spice up front with some coriander seed and anise noticeable, but of course the squash, nutmeg and cinnamon are all present. Aftertaste shows a nice maltiness with some earthy notes, a bit of light hops and the good spice flavour that shows off just a touch. Overall, a very nice pumpkin-based beer with some great flavours a good complexity throughout. Definitely nice to try! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle from Forager’s City Market in Brooklyn, New York, New York later in the day in my hotel room here in New York.

Draft. Deep amber red color, smells of cinnamon Nd spice with nutmeg. Not too overly sweet which I like. Well balanced

Location: Draft at Grand Cru in Rhinebeck - 10/1/11

Aroma: This one has a big nose with pumpkin and lots of spice (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc...)
Appearance: This brew pours into the glass a dark orange with a decent sized beige head
Flavor: Tastes right on with the nose, lots of spice flavors mostly, finishes with a touch of earthy hop
Palate: It is medium bodied, it has a quite fizzy feel, and it drys out a bit as the finish tingles on the tongue
Overall Impression: This one had a big spice/pumpkin flavor and nose, which I quite enjoyed. The plus carbonation was really the only "downfall" I had with this one, and it isn’t really that big a detraction. I thought this was an enjoyable beer, and a very nice example of style, but I tend to be a big fan of this style in general.

12 oz. Bottle at home. Hazy amber, thick white head. Aroma is of pumpkin pie spices and sweet malt. The beer is very well balanced, spicy, fruity, malty, and a mild hop bitterness on the finish. The pumpkin is not overpowering, and it works well with the crystal malt. Feels a little out of place in mid July, but it’s pretty nice.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours deep amber with a lingering, cream-colored head. Aroma of pumpkin with some other spices and a light hop finish. The beer is a pretty good pumpkin ale, but not the best beer in general.
