The Fire Station 5 beers are brewed by Portland Brewing exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain. A well-hopped, deep golden ale with a malty, full-bodied taste and refreshing finish. Sip and reflect on long journeys to exotic lands.

a very nice musky hop aroma. I liked this beer just for tha reason. I very nice hoppy taste that is entirely masked by the hops with a bit of an unbalanced hoppy, malty taste. Not very fruity, and not very complex, but tasty, and enjoyable just the same.

Nice musky herbal hop aroma with an apparent malt background. A little less amber colored for an amber, light head and little lacing. Watered down IPA flavor with nothing redeeming but on the other hand not dissapointing. Not very dry or bitter like most IPAs, an almost tangy grapefruity finish. I was expecting much worse for a Fred Meyer IPA.

This Ipa is not bad. The hoppy flavor is finished with a nice bitter taste. Not bad for such a small brewery.

Dark golden. Citrusy hop aroma with faint pine, spice, and applejuie. A little weak with some carmelly sweet notes. A grapefruit rind finish kind of turned me off though. I wonder if they are using Amarillo hops in here...

One of the better IPA's that I have had. Very nice balance of flavors with a nice hoppy taste.

Bought 1 to try. Not a spectacular IPA but not bad either. Reasonably hopped and perhaps a bit rough? in the finish. A tad thin. Reminds me of Redhook IPA..

floral grassy hop aroma. bronze color, minimal head. sweet malt that doesn't complement the hops well at all. drank in the car on the way to wyoming

This was alright. Strong hop flavor and scent make this an acceptable IPA. Only tastes a little bit mass produced. Very good for something made by Fred Meyer. Try the porter too.

Picked this up at a Fred Meyer in Seattle. Know very little about it, but this is a good drinking IPA. Nice head, great color in the glass, has a nice balance of flavors. Like kingpinhead, I found it really suprising.
