From the tap poured brown with a fair amount of head. Nice sweet malty flavor with a quick finish.

On tap at Wahoo’s Tacos in La Jolla. Like everyone else who’s rated this beer previously the color and nose on this beer fool you. Nose is sweet, honey, malty, slightly bready. Poured a transparent, brown amber with a frothy white head. Flavor was fine, nothing wrong just thin. Nuts, bread, grains, a little grass. The finish is watery with a weird minerality. Drinkable for forgettable.

Tap at Porter’s Pub, UCSD. Pours a clear amber-brown with a small white head. Aroma of malt, grass, and a hint of something sweeter. Sharp taste, starts with a lot of burnt malt then more grassy, wood, herbal tastes come in. Lingering sharpness that ends watery. Drinkable.

Meh. Much like the previous rater, I think the color and aroma do more for this beer than what little flavor is present. I sampled this at the LA Beer Fest and it was a drain pour for me. Too much other good stuff to try.

Amazing honey-slash-malt aroma, with a terrific potential for a spicy, woody hop flavor to develop, except that it doesn’t. It ends up too watered down to be really flavorful. Color was also too light to be "brown." As the aroma was this beer’s most redeeming value, I spent more time smelling it than actually drinking.
