COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a special autumn multi-grain porter with the addition of wildflower honey. The malted German rye contributes a minty/earthy note not found in any other malted cereal grains. This beer is quite a bit sweeter than a sweet stout and, as a result of the honey addition, is ligher in body.

On draught at the Firehouse brewpub in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a light tan head that has some good retention and sticky lacing inside the glass. Aroma of roasted multi-grain malt, quite fruity character with light scent of dry rye and honey. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with flavors of sweet rye, honey and a touch of earthy spice. Finish is quite smooth, a little slick with a dry malt aftertaste with no noticable bitterness. A terrific hybrid porter with a touch of honey.

Thanks Skyview. Growler. The beer pours to a deep brown body with a non-existent head. The flavor is sweet milk chocolate chips, honey, rye. Surprisingly balanced. The aroma is chocolate, rye, honey. The palate is carbonated heavily. Sweet.

Semi-hazed and medium chocolate colored with nothing on top. Sweet Hershey’s chocolate and almond like Nutella glaze joins a touch of pooled mocha coolers for the aromatic component. Flavor rings in with gritty, nutty and chocolaty dust for a cocoa-esque camp composure. Subtle carbonation and Symphony-like chocolate bars work well together in their complimentary intonations. Velvety chocolate enfolds a sweet, moderate nectar like kick on the way out. Thanks, Bob!

Thanks to Skyview for this pour. Nice cloudy brown color. Rich roasted malt body. A little chocolate.

Cheesehead YeAH 2007, thanks yet again Bob (Skyview), YEAH A South Dakota rating without the road trip!

Deep brown with a frothy fading beige head, okay lace. The aroma has notes of charred and toasted malt, rye for sure, plum and chocolate vapours, and even a hint of woody earthy qualities. The taste has a nice twang of fruit, bittersweet chocolate and rye bread with a finish of smoke and clove. I did not find any honey in this beer. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing. A nice brew overall.

Thanks to Bob for bringing the growler for my South Dakota rating! Poured clear medium-deep brown with a loose ring of beige head. The aroma picked up lots of sweeter chocolates and honey with a lot of simple sugars apparent.. sweet overall and rather enjoyable. The flavor found sweet chocolate and honey again with a decently high rye spicage leaving a lasting impression.. still lots of simpler sugars.. sweet, medium-length finish. Medium-bodied and a bit too sweet for my liking.. lighter bitterness and an OK feel on the palate.
